It’s Resin Rose Eve! We have been at the hotel all day setting up, and shared the traditional pizza delivery dinner. Old Lady Marz (Madam Barz?) will pass. She has become a pizza snob since her trip to the East Coast. #doll #bjd #dollcon #resinrosebjdexpo

An old lady with bottle-red hair squints through her glasses at a piece of greasy cheese pizza, holding out a hand to keep it from getting any closer.

The old lady holds her hands to her head in frustration as a grey hall goes on forever behind her. Lost in the hotel!

My car was out of fluid for a while, but I ignored it because it would always rain before I thought about refilling it. When I finally did, it wouldn’t squirt. Mice had nested in the hood and chewed through the hose. 🐭

The inside liner of a car hood with mottled gray and brown foam, resting on the engine. Some of the foam of is fluffed up into a puff ball.

A section of black tubing, one end chewed at an angle. Little tooth marks.

My dogs have been especially fickle about store bought treats lately. Turning their noses up, in this economy? They always love a home baked biscuit, so into the kitchen I go. Recipe included in alt text of first photo. #pug #rescuepug #recipe

A cookie sheet of bone shaped biscuits in the foreground, a very focused pug in the background.

Cheese and Oat Biscuits

Ingredients
3 cups of flour - I like to use half brown rice flour and half oat flour, but wheat flour also works
1 large egg or 2 eggs if small, lightly beaten
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup shredded cheese
~1 cup water

Directions
Preheat oven to 350.
Mix the flour, oats and cheese, then add the egg and mix some more.
Add water slowly, mix and knead until it forms a ball. It shouldn’t be sticky, work a bit more flour in if that happens.

Dust your preferred rolling surface with flour and roll the dough out to about 1/4in.
Cut with cookie cutter. I tried making bite sized biscuits, but they cook too fast for my attention span.

Arrange the biscuits on a cookie sheet, they won’t spread so they don’t need much space. I like to use parchment paper.
Bake for 20-25 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool.

A cookie sheet of bone shaped biscuits, up close you can see bits of rolled oats and cheddar cheese.

PNW Doll Artist Expo, Portland OR. A thread. 🧵🫶 This is a small, local, two day show held in June. I attended this year as a vendor’s assistant. One of my key duties is driving this car with every nook and cranny stuffed. #pnwdollartistexpo #dollcon

There is a hilltop nature park nearby where I get to take my client’s dog walking. On a clear day there is a nice view of Wy’East (aka Mt. Hood). Sometimes there are flowers in the meadow. #PNW #oregon

Thanksgiving 2025, A Thread. Holidays are pretty low key at my house. There are few solid traditions, but I almost always start this particular day off by watching The Witch while making green bean casserole from scratch. #thanksgiving

A frumpy, middle-aged white woman holds a very large mushroom up to her eye. It’s bigger than her glasses, which are already oversized.

A note about GBC, since it’s such a polarizing dish. I did not grow up eating this and did not like it the few times I had it. But my boyfriend did grow up with it, and it reminds him of his mom, so I was asked if I could make it. The recipe I work from is Alton Brown’s Best Ever Green Bean Casserole. Some modifications: veggie broth instead of chicken, double garlic, extra seasonings. More mushrooms to use up the package. I do not fry my own onions. I did it once, and while it was pretty tasty, it was a lot of work that I did not enjoy doing. More importantly, we realized that the onions were a key part of evoking the memory, and mine just didn’t do that. So I use two cans of store bought fried shoestring onions. Mix half of one package into the beans, spread the rest on top. I use a bigger dish to maximize the crispy onion surface.

Pilgrims clasp hands that are raised to the sky, which is clear and blue. Clearly, this will go well for them.

A family of pilgrims gazing out into the wild, arms to the sky in praise. Surely, they will be blessed.

Doll Meet, August 2025. Beaverton, OR. A Thread. #dolls #dollsky #dollmeet #bjd

A cute Black cat-girl looks up at the camera with her pale peach eyes and heart shaped pupils. She has a mischievous smile on her vitiligo adorned face, and a big-ass cup in her hand. So hydrated.

Doll is from Smart Doll.

A younger girl with enormous dark brown eyes gives you a hopeful look. Is there candy? She has soft wavy white blond hair and pale skin with rosy cheeks, her dress is mustard plaid with a brown blouse.

I think this is a LittleFee.

Three girl dolls on a floral quilted blanket. It’s a picnic! The doll in the foreground is very happy to be there, drinking a blue drink that matches her dress. The other to are out of focus, but in positions of relaxation and repose.

The are all made by Volks.

A girl with chibi proportions has a shocked look on her face. There’s an alien on her head! It clings to her hair with three pointy crab legs and squints its one blue eye. It is wearing a Lilo character hat with big funny ears.

Girl is from the Hani blind box series. Alien is from Studio HatCat.
