1/ Chevre, this week there is no parsha and no parsha next week either. Tonight starts Sukkot, where we go out and build a temporary hut and “live” in it for the next week.

1/ Chevre, this week’s parsha is Hazinu (האזינו). This is the last parsha that we’ll read on Shabbat. The next 2 Shabbatot will be Sukkot and Simchat Torah, where we will read special Torah readings and then complete (and restart) the reading the Torah.

1/ Chevre, this week we don’t read the Parsha, it’s Rosh Hashanah! I want to start by giving a shout out to everyone I ran into yesterday at the AWS TLV Summit. It was great to meet new friends and to catch up with existing friends. Welcome to the new folks who learned about my weekly updates.

1/ Chevre, this week’s parsha is Ki Tetze (כי תצא). This week’s parsha is chock full of mitzvot. One thing that stood out to me this week is the idea that if a person is condemned to hang, they should not remain overnight on the gallows.
