I have 2 boats I keep at home. I will now use the V-bottom for the big river and let my jet drive boat rest. The Rock River is 2 miles away, the Mississippi is 25. Loggers are bad news for everyone and the planet. Its not like they are planting trees to harvest, they aren't. Take take take.

Back between 1980s and 2000s cities cared about their rivers & the planet, but that all changed. Now its industry first. Same the they Mississippi River, they dredge for barges and dump the sand into fishing areas.

Bad news, loggers showed up and started removing all the habitat from the islands where I drift. So I am done getting photos on the Rock River it looks like. Sold out by landowners.

Yes lots of birds moving, most leaving, but some stop to rest, like a Cuckoo bird I saw. There has been quite a few Blue heron hanging around and one green.

A pair of Backs fro last time out. There was duck hunters shooting just down river 1/4 mile, but the deer seemed to know it wasn't me. That's why its always worth going, the wildlife gets used to seeing me drift by.

It was just after sunrise, I had it on my monopod on for low light, then up ahead I saw a deer. Then 2, then 3 all bucks! They would look at me, but the low sun was behind me, so they couldn't tell what I was slowly drifting down river just a few feet from them. #nature #wildlife #midwest_photos

They never did run, just walked into the woods and kept feeding.
