Just had the privilege of invoking Minnesota's Digital Fair Repair Act with a company that refused to provide a replacement part, but would accept the entire unit for service. It's literally a two-inch water intake filter. I'm not shipped an entire bidet back and forth just to have that installed.

I know it doesn't look like much, but this is a Genius playlist generated on an iPod containing songs released in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Considering Apple stopped updating Genius data over a decade ago I think this is pretty exciting!

I have a Lenovo Yoga C630, which has a Snapdragon 850 CPU. Recently a Windows 11 update causes it to boot loop, and there's no way to get a mainline Linux distro running on it. So I'm putting Windows 10 back on it. The recovery image has Windows 10 1803, so it has a lot of updating to do 😵‍💫

I really wish you could sign into YouTube on desktop the same way you can on a smart TV, just by scanning a QR code. Would be nice to be able to quickly sign in on my work computer where I don't have access to my passkey for my Google account.

I find it weirdly rewarding to port stuff to new operating systems, CPU architectures, and library versions. Things like making sure an old audio processing library compiles on Apple silicon, removing bad path separator assumptions, and updating ancient .NET Framework libraries for modern .NET.

Finally had the opportunity to try my Loop Switch 2 earplugs at last night's Lady Gaga concert. I cannot recommend them enough. Loved that I could adjust between the three strength levels as needed.

Started NieR: Automata this weekend! Finished Route A (and Route W 🫣). I think I much prefer the approach of Automata where all the canonical endings arise from just playing through the game rather than doing something specific like upgrading all the weapons.

If I was the CEO of Visa or Mastercard on day one I'd announce that every two years the transaction fee for swiped or manually entered cards would double, basically eliminating credit card fraud in under a decade.
