Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 19hI think they'll treat it like generic content and call it "Bond" 100
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Amazon should know it's smarter to start Bond in his mid-30's. That way they can concurrently run a Bond: Year One series with someone else on Prime. 010
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 03/10/2026A great bit of tying up loose ends and setting the table for the tragic build-up to issue 300. 000
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Dude, you're going to get into so much trouble for speaking of this. 110
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I'm convinced that the sound effect of the shark's roar is same one used for Spot, the Munsters' pet dragon that lived under the steps. 010
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 02/10/2026There are many vhs/dvd/streaming versions that like to claim it was adapted from Edgar Allen Poe's poem "The Bells." It wasn't, but between the name and the similarity to "Tell-Tale Heart" you can understand why an eager distributer would try to pass it off as such. 000
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I've decided to spend October catching up on silent horror movies. THE BELLS (1926) featuring Boris Karloff in a small but menacing role. Adapted from a play, it's a classic plot about a murderer literally haunted by his deed. Even under a big hat and thick glasses you can spot Karloff. 110
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 02/10/2026That's a great Clint Eastwood anecdote. October really is the best month for sunsets on the east coast. 010
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 01/10/2026MARK OF THE VAMPIRE is the quintessential hidden gem of horror. Tod Browning basically remade his (now lost) silent film LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT. Bela Lugosi plays Count Not Dracula, seen here with proto-goth girl Carroll Borland.static.klipy.comCarroll Borland & Bela Lugosi: Mark of VampireALT: Carroll Borland & Bela Lugosi: Mark of Vampire 000
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Sometime before December they might even think of what the plot will be. 010

Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Was it Spielberg's FB? Maybe he just doesn't want anybody trashing his movie. 000
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Pfft! @boxbrown.bsky.social has been saying this for years. And I wouldn't call his statement a "slam," but I get it. You can't leave a good pun like that on the shelf. 110
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 30/09/2026According to that article, they don't even have a story yet. I'm sure any ending will be a surprise to them. 010

Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I usually agree, but the barren plain actually worked for me this time. It's a dead desolate world and it leaves Jordan alone with only his own thoughts. ... and a Hal Jordan hologram. Hal-ogram. Has anyone used that yet? I'm going to try to make it happen. 000
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Maybe it's what QT is working on for his final film. "Hanging Dong With The Wolf" 010
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 28/09/2026It's been a few months so I figure it's ok to make my spoilery jokes about the monster. But I've forgotten them all. 110
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 28/09/2026And it's funny to me that with "Artificial" (starring Andrew Garfield) we seem to have TWO legacy sequels in the same year. Brings me back to the 90's when there were competing volcano movies and asteroid movies. 000
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Heard an interview with Aaron Sorkin where he insisted this wasn't a sequel to The Social Network. The marketing team is not backing him up here... 100
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Is it just my own familiarity with Philly or were there a LOT more specific location shots than in other seasons? 200
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 27/09/2026It's summer 1983 and my grandparents are asking me "what is this whole return of the jedi (pronounced JE-dee) thing" they keep hearing about. My 12-year-old brain can't comprehend how it is even possible to be so out of touch. It's 2026 and there is SO much popular shit I've never heard of. 000
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I miss the days when a show would just run it's course and stop production without a finale. The only way you knew it was cancelled was 3 months later in September there would be a new show in it's timeslot. 010
Doug Slack @dslack.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Classic horny soap opera meets bloody demon sacrifice. I'm wary to recommend the sequel, Hellbound. I think it's great but it's a very different vibe from the intimacy of the original. 130
