In 2023, I took a few tests to enter a big club academy as a scout. In one of the tests I made a report on a certain player who, at the moment, is regarded as one of the brightest prospects for Hungary. I wasn't good enough for the club, it seems, but the player was.

Really interested to see if he can maintain this level consistently (especially against stronger opponents in J1 West group). More of a deeper lying player in this game but moments of penetrative/progressive passing show potential for more direct contributions in attack.

Mao Hosoya: Didn’t get good quality shots but did a lot with his runs peeling wide, receive lofted long balls, and general hold-up play. Battled hard to occupy Verdy's back line & allowed Reysol's other attackers to drift around into other spaces.

Yusei Yamanouchi: direct running down flanks provided lots of threat. Needs to improve technique to turn threat into goals/assists as some touches can be a bit sloppy. His physicality & verticality useful in general.

Kashiwa #Reysol were quite dominant in the 1H, maybe could/should've scored more. Yamanouchi & Hosoya's runs were causing lots of problems. Verdy improved in the 2H & then took advantage of a set-piece to level. Then a Yuya Fukuda super goal to get the win!

A bit disappointing from both Osaka teams, the silver lining was we were able to see a good debut for Solomon Sakuragawa and an interesting sample of Harumi Minamino. If the Osaka teams keep this level of play, we will see them low in the league table.

Harumi Minamino was genuinely quite good for tochigi in the 2024 season albeit in J2 then he spent the entirety of 2025 bench-warming for Gamba, as young players usually do 🙃 i'm super surprised he started yesterday but hopefully he kicks on (note: still haven't seen the game yet)

I really don't see what Vitória SC gains from having Tiago Silva so deep in the build-up. He might be the most effective midfielder on the last third that Vitória has on the pitch, not to mention his lack of transition defense. Weird decision from the manager.

A better second match for Oh Se-hun against FC Tokyo but the concerns are still the same. He managed to improve his % in aerial duels (50%) but in far less duels (8). He needs to use his body better, opponents get him off position quite easily.

Concerning first match for Oh Se-hun, not sure if he will continue to be the main man upfront for Machida Zelvia. When your strike doesn't impose himself physically on a physical - direct style like Machida's, you'll probably lose that match.

Just finished watching the Vissel Kobe X Urawa Reds match, I'll leave some thoughts below 👇🏻 Ohgihara's football IQ is incredible, I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a manager after retiring. Took a few risks while defending, guessing passes and trying to get interceptions.
