I can't be the only foreign traveller immensely disappointed that Spaklerweg off the M50-54 lines isn't really "Sparklerweg". I'll admit I was fooled initially!

Don't forget that nearly all Republicans in Congress stood by and supported Trump's... -Tax cuts for the rich -Cuts to the social safety net -Iran War -ICE abductions & National Guard deployments -Inflationary tariffs -Blatant corruption His unpopularity is theirs too — and the midterms are here.

Republicans have a big money advantage for the midterms, but so far it doesn’t seem to be translating to better polls. But make no mistake, money still matters.

Half a billion dollars in GOP spending does little to move polls
Republicans’ massive money advantage has yet to reshape the midterm map, as Democrats keep expanding their ambitions.

If little of the new housing being built in the area is actually affordable, then presumably those extra passengers would be either tourists or millionaires; hardly an improvement from an ecological standpoint as the rich pollute more and generate more waste overall

As for the issue of touism in toto, it's impossible not to notice that all trains out of Centraal Station won't be running on Saturday due to a scheduled platform expansion project. The new platform is being built to handle the greater number of passengers expected in the future

Not least because major companies market cheap, convenient products that are packaged in plastic, something that as a consumer I have limited control over if enough of a market persists. It seems better that big food companies should be made to find an alternative material that biodegrades

I would not, for example, consider myself a very good exemplar of the kind of 'monoculture' Halsema references in her comments. I too am greatly concerned about the amount of waste generated through tourism and strive to minimize the use of plastics. In practice, however, this is quite difficult...

It's difficult not to ask oneself as a foreigner, am I what the mayor of Amsterdam was complaining about? In all fairness, I would consider myself a symptom and not a disease... also not really a proper "tourist" either. I came with my own projects right out of the box, but I also need to survive!

Pandorobo (bread thief), and Nise-Pandorobo (his impostor) are on displays at JR Ikebukuro Station until 4 October, ahead of the anime's 2 October premiere. Based on Keiko Shibata's picture books, it follows a mouse disguised as a loaf of bread, searching for the world's tastiest bread.

Ireland's a beautiful place to visit, but the lingering dominance of booze and religion makes it an unattractive place to consider settling permanently. There's not nearly enough weed around and the shadows are full of truly toxic hard drugs, much like in the US and the UK.
