This is not new. Too many people have had to work until they literally die. My grandma was one of them. She worked until the day she had a stroke. Literally. A massive stroke that left her completely incapacited. My dad worked until the day he died. And I’ll carry on the family tradition.

Not many things are better than when a dog just relaxes into you. Love my granddood when he’s snuggly, wily, goofy, derpy, silly, feisty, or whatever. He’s the best. I love our snuggle time.

I cannot emphasize enough how critical this is. I’d also love to do a thread of how this is connected to the criminal regime wanting to do away with “birthright” citizenship. But I’m not doing that today. You can do the intellectual labor of drawing those threads.

I’d like to live in a world where war criminals who genocide entire populations of ppl are held to account rather than handed a public lectern. But, wish in one hand, shit in the other … that isn’t the world we live in. Instead, they’re glorified and protected. What a disgusting time to live in

Thinking about NHJ latest piece in the NYT and evaluating it against my own experience as THE only Black kid and as a parent wanting to invest in my kids in ways I didn’t get so they could go further. And all of that against the systemic realities in schools and society for Black ppl. 🧵

In VA Beach, we’ve went from tanks, shorts, and flip flop weather to t’s, pants, and socks weather over night. And yes, it was that drastic, like someone flipped a switch. Crazy.

Wow. So many things going through my head but mostly joy, love, and appreciation for this man who went to great lengths to protect his library. My love has been in transition for a couple of years, my books in storage, and of all the things in storage I miss most, it’s my books. IYKYK. My precious.

Anyone have bestiality on their 2026 bingo card? Am I the only one who didn’t have this on my mind as a possibility for how low the party of pedophiles could go? Raping women and children not enough for them? Gotta rape some animals too? This is literally THE stupidest most grotesque timeline.

This is a good piece. I hate that our politics in this country are so convoluted. I’ve said it a million times and will likely say it a million more at least: there is no such thing as a perfect candidate, we vote for harm reduction, and we vote for the candidate we are best equipped to fight.

Xyan @drxyan.bsky.social · 26/08/2026
First, check and double check your voter registration. Particularly if you’re living in a regressive GOP state. Second, this is why I get so annoyed with folx who commemorate 100 years of women getting the vote. Cuz no. That ain’t it baby.

Someone during the last prez election said something to the effect of we are choosing the person we are most equipped to oppose. And that made so much more sense to me than the lesser of two evils b.s. we’re told over and over. Clearly, btw a certain segment of people have all the smoke for Dems

This is so necessary. When I was POA for my grandma. I wanted to move her closer to me and called the state oversight committee to learn about the nursing homes near me. They said they didn’t keep data after a report was addressed. I was flabbergasted.

This is a car in my apartment complex. Everyday, me and my granddood walk past this car. Everyday day is a reminder to avoid this person. But also, that “Stay broke, vote Democrat” sticker is the one I thought about today. Peak 2020’s where some average middle aged white dude who drives a Nissan…
Back of car window with many bumper stickers announcing the hate of the owner, proudly and loudly.

If there is a god, I hope they see what a huge fucking mistake humans were. Damn we’re awful. Extinction of species, death of the planet, can’t figure out how to treat each other right. Greed, genocide, corruption, lies, theft; that list goes on and on. Animals though, just live in balance.

Good thread. Lemme add that white people of “good conscience” consistently fail to recognize that every single time racial progress has been made, their brethren and sistren set to work undermining that progress. The gutting of the VRA began as soon as it was being imagined and discussed.

Men are the weaker sex. Period. Lots of scientific proof of that. And actually it’s gender, not sex to be scientifically accurate. And men lie ad nauseam about sexually assaulting others. Which is also well documented in popular and scholarly literature.

Released in 1994, The Cranberries Zombie is a powerful anti-war ballad. And the history this song memorializes should remind people that even when people share the same race (a social and political construction - not science based), humans will always find a way to divide. youtu.be/6Ejga4kJUts?...

I get this take. And I find it really frustrating that there are centuries of the worst crimes ever exposed that keep getting glossed over - where people had the same violences exacted upon their bodies and more, way more. As usual, my ancestors would like a word.

This reminds me of having toddlers or teenagers. Tidying up after they’ve made a mess, repeating yourself, and having to do it all over again and again. Except we’re dealing with adults who made terrible decisions for their children and communities. This is the Era of Stupid.

I stay saying this. This, to me, is the most important thing to pay attention to. It’s the lynchpin (literally) of everything this racist pedophile protecting regime is attempting to do in service to a white theocracy. Voter suppression is taking too long to be effective.
