How creepy is this poster? It sure looks like #SoulEater is a supernatural #horror movie, and it often works as one, but mostly it’s a really upsetting #thriller and police procedural. Not perfect, but it kept me guessing and invested, especially in terms of the titular myth. 7/10

I came for the German and stayed for the monsters. I enjoyed #Cuckoo because of the initial mystery, the general tone, that chase scene, and the creepy forest creatures. I do wish things had been explained a bit more in the end, though—I wanted to know more about these “cuckoos”! 8/10

If you liked #Smile, you will LOVE #Smile2. The films opens with a pre-title sequence that masterfully contexts the two films with a brilliant oner shot, and the cinematography remains gripping throughout. Naomi Scott is amazing—acting, singing, dancing, stunting—the works! I quite enjoyed it. 8/10

#Creep2 is a great sequel because it redoes the structure of the first film while turning so much else upsidedown. The heterosexual tension is MORE awkward than the sexual tension in the first one, and “Aaron” is open about being a killer from the start. Great performances by both actors here. 8/10

Creepy period piece with a great lead actor? Sounds awesome! Well, #HoldYourBreath isn’t bad at all—tons of suspense and mystery—but it’s a bit of a gradual build. It feels like a haunted house story (with lots of dust!), but it might just be a realist story. That’s the mystery! 7/10

Aaaaand now #Deadpool&Wolverine. LOTS of multiverse here. This film feels more like a #Loki sequel than a #Deadpool sequel, but I guess that makes sense with the tanking of #XForce. All the Void stuff is super fun—great cameos—but the story lacks something to me. And maybe TOO MUCH heart? 7/10
