Just Watched; Black Sunday (1960). Mario Bava directs a gothic vampire movie with graphic gore at completely wild levels for the time period. Eyeball trauma, head pulverization, exposed rib cages, Bava's got it all. Highly recommend. #filmsky #horrorsky #horror

Just Watched: The Pyx (1973). An early horror role for Karen Black (cool!) who also composes and sings the soundtrack (not great!). She plays a heroin addicted call girl who runs afoul of some goddamn satanists. Cool ending but has some serious pacing problems. #filmsky #horrorsky #horror

Just watched: Rituals (1977). A gnarly Canadian wilderness survival horror from the 70s. The performances are pretty great across the board as a group of friends has their nerves frayed and starts to turn on each other. #filmsky #horrprsky

Man kind of incredible how much Judith Light kills it in this new Punisher special. Who knew she had the range to play a villain.

Just Watched: Send Help (2026). An absolute blast of a comedy survival horror from Sam Raimi. Rachel McAdams is every bit as dialed in to his blood splattery sense of humor as a young Bruce Campbell. I would love to see her doing more unhinged weirdo roles like this. #filmsky #horrorsky

Just Watched: 28 Years Later - The Bone Temple (2026). A hell of a sequel to the last 28 Years Later movie that doesn't quite live up to it but is still a great flick nonetheless. Ralph Fiennes strikes up the best zombie/human friendship this side of Day of the Dead. #filmsky #horrorsky

just Watched: Primate (2026). An all around great B movie that has no business being as good as it is. It's got great creature work that is not overly CG'd and some really visceral and memorable gore. Horror fans should absolutely check this one out. #filmsky #horrorsky

Just Watched: The Shadow's Edge (2025). Old man cop Jackie Chan comes out of retirement to go after old man criminal Tony Leung. Plays out as much more of a police procedural than an action movie, with lots of cool surveillance scenes reminding me of the French Connection. #filmsky

Recently Watched: Bugonia (2025). My first Yorgos Lanthimos movie! Great performances from Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons. There were a few plot points I didn't care for but the ending stuck with me. #filmsky

Just Wacthed: Darkman (1990). Sam Raimi's first superhero movie, starring a horribly disfigured Liam Neeson. It's Raimi as all get-out including lots horror and comic bits, but you can also see a lot of Tim Burton Batman in the mix (especially with a Danny Elfman score). #filmsky

Just Watched: Sisu - Road to Revenge (2025). Sisu needs more revenge but this time it's against communist Stephen Lang! Really makes the most of its limited budget and has a few memorable action sequences. It's not remotely realistic but not trying to be. #filmsky #actionsky

This was not great! It rips off the basic plot of Halloween in its entirety, but the execution is terrible and mostly an excuse to show some rockin' 80s boobs. I just can't take a movie killer seriously if he's rocking a Canadian tuxedo.

This was a really effective slasher for the first 30 minutes or so, cribbing literally from Halloween II and H20. Then for some godforsaken reason they decided they want to explain where the Strangers come from which makes them way less scary IMHO.

I plan to post this ABC News supercut video of Trump calling Harris and Democrats "fascists" (and "communists"!) everytime I see a Republican on TV whining about Trump being called a "fascist" by the left. Oh, the hypocrisy! Oh, the gaslighting!
