Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 17/09/2026If a grad student asked me to recommend a book about this, I'd start with this one 000
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Farmington River in Simsbury, CT (if "home" is where I grew up) and the west fork of the San Jacinto River, near where I now live in Kingwood, TX. I still miss Connecticut. 141
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 12/08/2026This is on the top of Drudge Report today. Maybe a hint? I've seen other news items about how she is his favorite, closest confidant. (She writes a lot of his Truth Social posts for him) 030
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 11/08/2026You might like this if you haven't read it. I don't agree with his chapter denouncing the Bible, but the book is quite rigorous and well thought through 020
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 04/08/2026Have any of my friends here had a lift tube installed in their home? My wife and I are talking about having one of these residential home lifts installed in our home (we have a large second floor we would use a lot if not for the stairs). I'd love to hear others' experience with these. 243
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 26/07/2026Always carry one of these at the SEALS conference 120
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 23/07/2026As You Sow doesn't post here anymore, but I thought it was worth sharing what they posted on LinkedIn today 021
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 14/07/2026I've disagreed with a lot of ATF regulatory actions this year (mostly rolling back the rules 😩) but I think this would be a good thing, especially if they are required to keep a secure back up of the digitized records. Could make it a lot easier for law enforcement to do a gun trace. #2A #GVP 151
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Nice! Protip: You need to start calling your standing desk your "workbench" which evokes something my Dad (born in 1931) had in the garage with grimy tools on it. Bonus points if you mount one of these thingies on a corner of your workbench (standing desk) 110
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 11/07/2026You might like this excerpt from a post on LinkedIn yesterday by my colleague Frank Fagan (reacting to the new UChicago policy banning devices) 010
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 19/06/2026Very accurate description of my academic profile. FWIW, Gemini says this tool is an excellent proxy for measuring your E-E-A-T in the AI universe. 000
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 04/06/2026I love this catchy opening for the 9th Circuit's opinion yesterday in United States v. DeBorba #2A #GVP 010
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 31/05/2026Just received my copy of this new book by @princetonupress.bsky.social, in which Dr. Christopher Tollefsen argues that using lethal force in self-defense is never justified, no exceptions.🙂 #gvp #2A 031
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 26/04/2026My wife sent me the comments from The Atlantic's post on FB "This is like the EPSTEINTH time!" ...funny. 030
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 20/04/2026"Woke" is now everything except this guy's current opinions 010
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 06/04/2026#GVP Which policies or enforcement actions "work" for reducing gun violence, and which do not? Here is a fascinating new study about the Biden-era crackdown on gun dealers. Warning letters and expectation of inspections reduced gun violence; severe sanctions, not so much. Take a look! (Link below). 152
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 27/03/2026I like watching the tiny hummingbirds swarm around the blossoms on this tree in my back yard. I planted it about 10 years ago, and twice since then it has been killed back almost to the ground by a deep freeze, but it eventually grows back. It's about 7 ft tall right now. 2100
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 06/03/2026This book has a terrific chapter on the longstanding petty personal feud between FDR and Humphreys. Fun fact: Humphreys refused to resign, and then unexpectedly died in his sleep at age 57. The autopsy report I found online (?!) listed the cause of death as "natural causes." At age 57, not sick. 🤔 100
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 04/02/2026Today I read this short nonfiction essay by Tolstoy and really enjoyed it. At the end of his life, he really poured his heart out in a series of nonfiction writings, and it's quite moving. 020
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 23/01/2026Noticed this at the bookstore today and got it, along with a couple other books. Enjoying reading a good book. 030
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 23/01/2026Without looking it up with Google lens or something, do any of my friends know what this is? My church has started using this stock photo as a slide for announcements, and I had no idea what the contraption was supposed to be. 210
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 13/01/2026This is from 4 days ago but I just noticed it and thought it was worth sharing 021
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 25/12/2025Excited about this book that was delivered today 060
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 22/12/2025Something about our current Supreme Court has had me thinking about the Legal Process School of the 1960's, and on a whim I bought this old book 130
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 19/12/2025Nice find in the local library thrift store today. Brand new, $2, signed by author. 040
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 18/12/2025Yes, in the scenes where he has the white panel and the mic clip to it I thought it was kind of nifty 010
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 17/12/2025Somehow jr's expression reminded me of this famous photo 010
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 13/12/2025Legal research job, posted yesterday on LinkedIn 020
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 02/11/2025This is from my chat with Google Gemini this morning. I have hundreds and hundreds of books in my personal library at home, and dozens in my office on campus, and I often forget that I have a title from years ago that would be useful for a new research project. I need an inventory. 110
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 31/10/2025Walking our 13-year-old Brittany at dawn this morning and we saw some deer. At first, she froze and stared in awe for a long moment. Then she nearly dislocated my shoulder pulling on the leash, haha. 0130
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 28/10/2025I was struck by the disturbing facts in the court's opening paragraphs, and relieved they thought this menace could be disarmed. 141
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 28/10/2025Aging myself here, but as a child I had a copy of Shel Silverstein's "Uncle Shelby" book and it was one of my faves 030
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 14/10/2025This sort of reminded me of the internal struggles going on in the Democratic Party right now, in terms of divergent perceptions about what voters want. 1292
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 25/09/2025It's my thing for a room where I do a lot of reading. My library at home is the same color 030
Dru Stevenson @drustevenson.bsky.social · 13/09/2025Enjoying my breakfast at home today. Capers and a *little* minced onion are between the lox and the cream cheese. 051
