I love putting tariffs on brass instruments. I, as a music educator, want band to be EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE and lead to EVEN MORE BUDGET CUTS and MORE AND MORE of my colleagues LOSE THEIR JOBS and MORE AND MORE STUDENTS lose MUSIC EDUCATION. That's going to Make America Great Again.

HELL YEAH FRED J MILLER YOU LOVE TO SEE IT!

"STATEMENT ON AI-GENERATED DESIGN SUBMISSIONS

AT FJM (FRED J. MILLER, INC.), WE ARE COmMmItted TO UPHOLDing THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF CREATIVITY, CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND INTEGRITY WITHIN THE PAGEANTRY UNIFORM INDUSTRY. AS PART OF THAT COMMITMENT, WE DO NOT ACCEPT AI-GENERATED DESIGNS AS REFERENCE MATERIAL FOR CUSTOM PROJECTS.

ADDITIONALLY, WE DO NOT PERMIT FJM-CREATED DESIGNS, SKETCHES, OR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY TO BE SUBMITTED INTO AI PROGRAMS FOR REVISION, REINTERPRETATION, OR CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT. THIS PRACTICE IS INCONSISTENT WITH OUR ETHICAL STANDARDS AND THE PRINCIPLES THAT GUIDE OUR WORK AS A DESIGN HOUSE.

WHILE AI TOOLS CONTINUE TO EVOLVE, THEY OFTEN PRODUCE IMAGERY THAT IS NOT GROUNDED IN THE PRACTICAL REALITIES OF GARMENT CONSTRUCTION, MATERIAL BEHAVIOR, OR PERFORMANCE FUNCTIONALITY. THESE DESIGNS FREQUENTLY INCLUDE DETAILS, PROPORTIONS, AND EFFECTS THAT CANNOT BE ACCURATELY RECREATED IN PRODUCTION, RESULTING IN CONCEPTS THAT ARE ULTIMATELY NOT FEASIBLE TO MANUFACTURE.

OUR DESIGN PROCESS IS BUILT ON THE EXPERTISE OF SKILLED PROFESSIONALS, ARTISTS AND TECHNICIANS WITH YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WHO UNDERSTAND BOTH THE CREATIVE AND TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF PERFORMANCE WEAR. THIS HUMAN-CENTERED APPROACH ENSURES THAT EVERY DESIGN WE PRODUCE IS NOT ONLY VISUALLY COMPELLING, BUT ALSO ACHIEVABLE, FUNCTIONAL, AND TAILORED TO THE NEEDS OF EACH CLIENT.

WE APPRECIATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND PARTNERSHIP IN RESPECTING THESE GUIDELINES AS WE CONTINUE TO DELIVER THE LEvEL OF QUALITY AND INNOVATION THAT HAS DEFINED FJM FOR DECADES.

It's our voicemail line, you can leave three minutes of your most unhinged stuff if you want, or just say something like "Fuck the Colts" or "Crown sucks and eat my ass" or whatever.

Also @homefield.bsky.social when are we gonna get some DCI merch? Asking for y'all to get in on this action. Some of us would do some, uh, questionable things if it meant getting a Santa Clara Vanguard long-sleeve T-shirt or a Carolina Crown hoodie in return.

DrumCorpsAF Podcast @drumcorpsafpodcast.bsky.social · 09/08/2026

Any drum corps that isn't calling Buc-ees right goddamn now to setup a Buc-ees/corps merch deal like this is asking to go bankrupt.

And we've got a nice, long transitional episode for that coming out later this week. Some familiar faces in it for you sickos out there. Well, two episodes, really. One for that, and one for gratuitous discussion about how all the judges were wrong and Carolina Crown was the *real* winner this year
