Having the worst week of your teaching career? Nothing like the kids coming in with gifts for your soon to be born son to wash that all away. Nothing like this profession, man.

Birmingham having 4 players called up for International Duty, and all 4 being defenders (or defensive midfielders) is objectively hilarious

Oh, Legion! (complimentary) #USL-C Three-goal comeback to make it 4-4 in second-half stoppage time, and genuinely deserved from the flow of the game in the past 20 minutes.

90+9 GOAL LEGION They’ve done it! With the last kick of the game, Ronaldo Damus ties things up to four goals apiece. A well-deserved equalizer after a spirited fightback for the Three Sparks. FINAL: Legion 4-4 New Mexico

FINAL THOUGHTS: 2-2 - It wasn’t 3-2 - Legion held their own at the end dealing with pressure - Taking off Romario makes 0 sense to me unless he can’t play 90’ - Atmosphere at The Valley is SO much better than Protective - A point in a vacuum is good but means nothing right now

Kaylor Hodges - Hammering Down @kaylorhodges.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

HALF TIME THOUGHTS: 2-2 - A bizarre first half - Legion missed some chances but look lively with the little possession they had - Jassem Koleilat - Laundry the LB still blows my mind - Incredibly disappointed in Pirmann’s shoe game tonight

For two teams that have a yellow based color in their crests, both teams have absolutely zero yellow in their kits today. That said, the Holy City kits are always my favorite yearly release and the Forged for Battle is one of my favorite Legion kits ever.

FINAL THOUGHTS: 2-2 - a deserved shared point - the late goals are becoming more and more creatively cruel - Jassem Koleilat should be in consideration for MVP of the League, not even an exaggeration - I highly question the decision to take off Williams - at least it wasn’t 2-3

010

Kaylor Hodges - Hammering Down @kaylorhodges.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Goal Indy Legion 2-2 IXI It had absolutely been coming and maybe Lady Luck wasn’t with the Legion. A ball from a wide area falls to Rendon, who hits the ball off post, where it deflects perfectly onto Dylan Sing’s quad for a goal. It’s been that type of season.

000

Kaylor Hodges - Hammering Down @kaylorhodges.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Indy Eleven has just had their third goal disallowed on the night. Right or wrong calls, the BYB/IXI will absolutely feel hard done by tonight if they don’t walk away with 3 Points. On the other foot, it feels like Lady Luck is finally with Legion.

Three goals in the past two games for Romario Williams. If Legion's going to make the #USL-C Playoffs, this a game they have to have to close the gap to the teams above the line.

031

Kaylor Hodges - Hammering Down @kaylorhodges.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Legion concede from a wide area, but the offside flag bails out the 3 Sparks. It did look off by about a foot or two, but it absolutely gave everybody in Black and Gold a PTSD Flashback.

000

Kaylor Hodges - Hammering Down @kaylorhodges.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

GOAL LEGION Legion 2-1 IXI Peter-Lee Vassell with some incredible on-ball movement with a perfect pass to Williams. Romario rightfully giving all the praise to PLV. Williams, PLV, and Pasher all linking up to get on the score sheets versus their former club in Indy.

010

Kaylor Hodges - Hammering Down @kaylorhodges.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

The chances that Koleilat makes into Year 3 with the Legion is growing more and more unlikely. I don’t see any way he doesn’t get poached by an upper division if he keeps playing like this.

000

Kaylor Hodges - Hammering Down @kaylorhodges.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Koleilat with a Save of the Week nomination after yet another sloppy turn over trying to build from the back.

000

Kaylor Hodges - Hammering Down @kaylorhodges.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

HALF TIME THOUGHTS: Legion 1-1 IXI - Shaky from the back early, but after conceding, it has completely cleaned up - Nice goal by Pasher, but I’m more excited by the Diarbian assist - Ref is letting the game flow pretty well, which is fine, I just hope it stays consistent in H2

000

Kaylor Hodges - Hammering Down @kaylorhodges.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

GOAL LEGION Legion 1-1 IXI Some incredibly fluid play starting from midfield with PLV, to Diarbian who squares one across to Pasher who cuts across the front of the goal. It was a great finish by the former Indy Man.

100

Kaylor Hodges - Hammering Down @kaylorhodges.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Goal Indy Legion 0-1 IXI An incredibly unfortunate deflection sees what looks like a comfortable save for Koleilat turn into a bottom corner finish for Hafferty. Legion have been playing with fire in the back with not fully dealing with pressure and it finally costs them.

Music/Band folks, I need some advice. I’m working on an arrangement for the stands at my school. All the kids want Love Me, but I saw NCAT do Love Me/Shot Callin. Instead of Shot Callin, I’m doing another NCAT Classic in Velvet Rope. Do we think this works or no?

Somehow I managed to miss former Legion forward Stefano Pinho sign for Charlotte Independence. He’s still the owner of the best goal scoring match in Legion history, bagging four versus the Red Wolves in the USOC.

Nicholas Murray writes that Legion's biggest need is a CF. Legion have draw or lost 7 matches when holding their opponents to 1 goal or less. If BHM scored 1 more goal in each of those matches, they would be in 2nd (36 points, 19 points added). Razor thin margins in the 205.

210

Kaylor Hodges - Hammering Down @kaylorhodges.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

At this point, I'm not sure what to say about it. Despite going down a man, Birmingham lost in the most "2026" way possible: not dealing with balls from wide areas. When playing on razor thin margins (1 goal games), that's what tips it in the wrong direction regularly.

010

Kaylor Hodges - Hammering Down @kaylorhodges.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

Tonight's 3-2 loss to Colorado Springs is the second 3-2 loss for Birmingham after leading 2-1 in the second half. It is the 6th loss decided by 1 goal. It is the 16th league match Legion have played in this season decided by 1 goal or less. Legion have only won 2 (RIFC & Pitt).

Stop me if you've heard this before, but Legion have conceded from a cross from a wide area. It's incredibly hard to hold on to a lead away from home down a man, but man...
