Fascinating and involving to see @druidtheatre.bsky.social's compelling, dark and dangerous Macbeth from the crow's nest of the raised on-stage seating at Lyric Belfast. Superb anchoring performances by Marty Rea and Marie Mullen, Sean Kearns deftly multi-tasking and stealing the Porter's scene.

30 years ago, The Beauty Queen of Leenane by Martin McDonagh, directed by Garry Hynes had its world premiere at the Town Hall Theatre. This production also marked the official opening of the Town Hall Theatre as Galway’s new municipal Theatre. Happy 30th anniversary, Town Hall Theatre! 🎉

In case you missed it, our artistic director Garry Hynes was on RTÉ Radio 1 last weekend chatting to Dearbhail McDonald on The Brendan O'Connor Show. Garry picked five music tracks that spoke to different parts of her life including her college days in Galway and J1 summers in New York.

Druid mourns the passing of playwright Tom Stoppard. We produced two of Tom’s plays in the early years of Druid, the surreal comedy After Magritte in 1978 and the metatheatrical murder mystery The Real Inspector Hound in 1980.
