![A “Grandiloquent Word of the Day” meme featuring the word “Aretaloger” [air-uh-TAL-uh-jur]. The definition reads: “A braggart; one who boasts excessively of their own virtues, merits, or accomplishments.” At right, a black-and-white vintage illustration depicts a self-assured, bare-chested gladiator holding a long trident, posed with one hand on his hip. Below, the example sentence reads: “After spending the entire evening giving an account of his wealth, accomplishments, romantic conquests, and innumerable virtues, the aretaloger was incredulous when Miss Junetinkle declined the offer of a second date.”](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:uzkqphsznycugmyz7hqvna3f/bafkreih5zpy4a3p3b2m63ip3qty6khpc2zod75aykrsclj2ceysiccetsu)
