I cancelled mine. I was fine 13 years ago before Amazon. I’ll be fine today without it. I’ll go to Indy book stores or B&N, buy from brand websites, Costco, or local. It could revitalize quality and and small stores.

He is not wrong on most points. Healthcare is broken on so many levels in the US. However, I’m less optimistic that actual change is coming. That would require an actual reflection on capitalism. And that sure isn’t going to happen with the incoming administration.

This is what frustrates me about academic medicine. In some cases docs are required to publish one or even two publications per quarter. It makes no sense. It’s just publishing for the sake of publishing. I don’t think it’s good science or that it necessarily advances medicine.
