NASA picture of the day today is a real 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿beauty! This is a composite image of the ~5000yo Callanish Stones on the Isle of Lewis. The amazing Giuseppe Petricca has only gone and photographed the Sun at noon there, every few days, for a whole year. #Dedication 🔭🧪👌 ℹ️: science.nasa.gov/image-articl...
The imposing Callanish Stones stand talk with their shadows spanning out across the glass. It's a super clear sky, but looks cold. Above the central stone is a strange figure-of-8 shape of dots. This is the location of the Sun, at noon, on various different days across the year.

I couldn’t make it to the @imc-leeds.bsky.social this year, but the lovely @drcharlottepickard.bsky.social is there, and she’s kindly photographed my book on 11th century Norman charters out in the wild on the @routledgehistory.bsky.social stand … I’m thrilled.

The Met put its entire collection online for free so I made a game out of it! 10 artifacts a day, and you guess where and when each one's from. Anthropeum.com if anyone wants to give it a shot and leave feedback :) #history #archeology #arthistory #museums

My forthcoming book with @routledgehistory.bsky.social. All about Norman charters and the 11th century history of the abbey of Sainte-Trinité-du-Mont, Rouen. Discovering ‘Bernard the Cook’ in 30 years of the abbey’s charters inspired me to write this book. www.routledge.com/Approaching-...

Wonderful to see the amazing ‘Giant’ community art project I’ve been involved with come to fruition today. It was unveiled next to the Cerne Abbas giant. It has made the BBC news and the national press. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

It was lovely to see ‘A Date with the Two Cerne Giants’ on the @oxbowbooks.bsky.social stand at #IMC2025. Chapter 13 is mine! And as always the greatest of thanks to @richardosgood.bsky.social for letting me include his famous Cerne Giant image in my chapter.

Following my work on the Cerne Giant project, it’s the greatest pleasure to be involved with this community art project about creating a new giant for the Dorset National Landscape. To be revealed in September. @beccagill.bsky.social and Radical Ritual.
