It's a thing, Hugo. I've been out from "home" since 2013 and it three countries later, doesn't get easier.

Today has been a complete waste of time. In times like this, I question why I am even here. Sometimes, corporate life is like this. Most times, it isn't, but it makes me wonder about how dangerous it is sometimes to settle for what is comfortable.

Looks awesome!!! I might soon be helping a former client setup their new Shopify business, this might come in handy!

000

David @drodol.com · 14/02/2025

It happened again last night. The same nightmare as before. Why does this keep happening? Where is this all coming from? Why does my brain keep playing these games with me? I've never, ever, come close to having this nightmare happen to me IRL, so, why?

000

David @drodol.com · 09/02/2025

Correct. From what I've gathered, if one's business is making <10K/m there's no use in trying to optimize for tax. But as I said, start by checking what you want to do with a local tax expert.

@businessmarketing.bsky.social this is what I meant in my last comment

020

David @drodol.com · 08/02/2025

In most countries in Europe, you'd be liable for that company tax because your company in the U.S. would be considered to be run from your country in Europe. Check with a local expert first is my advice.

I had been an avid Arc user, but seeing as they decided to stop developing it, and in an effort to make more conscious product decisions, I have now fully switched to brave.com (on desktop and mobile)

Just cancelled 3 video streaming subscriptions. Don't have time to be watching TV, makes no sense to keep the subscriptions.

I simply can't believe January is almost over. It's almost as if all the days have melted into one long day all together. I started writing and coding daily (actually since before Jan), and I've been keeping that streak. That's been a nice practice I hope will spill over goodness in other areas!

110

David @drodol.com · 27/01/2025

Why had you removed it, Piotr?

110

David @drodol.com · 26/01/2025

Where's this from, Peter?

David @drodol.com · 25/01/2025

You captured extremely well my experience with coding with ai. I've been struggling for a while not being able to pinpoint why I was feeling like speed was decreasing and mistakes were more frequent. Deep down I knew it was because complexity had increased, but you said it right.

000

David @drodol.com · 13/01/2025

Wow so nice! Congratulations!

David @drodol.com · 09/01/2025

Horrible results from coding with Sonnet today. Lesson: commit more frequently.

I'm halfway through a 2-hour leadership townhall session and I can't stop thinking about how disconnected I feel both from the C-level people talking, but also from their overall discourse and "direction". It's all full of corporate jargon, it's unnatural and even cringe.

010

David @drodol.com · 08/01/2025

🤩 Where is that?

Nice! What are you making it about? What language are you learning?

That's a really good question. I once tried BetterUp for a couple of sessions, and it was alright. I could have tried with other coaches but I couldn't afford to.

000

David @drodol.com · 02/01/2025

It's a fine balance, isn't it?

010

David @drodol.com · 02/01/2025

Just solved an issue that had been nagging me with the Rails port of jobsinenglish. (Not anything to do with Rails). Sometimes sharing your progress (or lack thereof) with others, can help you in ways you didn't even think was possible simply by sharing. Thank you, mate!

Happy new year, Val!

I enrolled in a mobile phone repair course which I'll take by the end of January. I have a bunch of devices (iPhones and iPads) at home I want to bring back to life. Also, I want to be able to figure out how to fix my electronics, so that's a first step towards that.

David @drodol.com · 29/12/2024

We are aligned on this. That's what I want.
