The Warriors Three! What a fun bunch of lads. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

Nimrod! I used my airbrush to make this big boi less intimidating to tackle. After painting the body that way, I used grey wash with some black ink to do the panel lining. I used diluted black ink to panel line the grey bits.

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

The female Prime Sentinel! Wraps up all the small based models I had left. Now to break out the airbrush and tackle my 3 large based models. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

The male Prime Sentinel! Continued with my blue-gray highlighted black scheme. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

Bastion! I leaned into my cool blues approach to highlighting the blacks again, instead of my usual greys. Does it give it a more moody look? #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Iron Lad! The metallic red was lighter than I wanted for the basecoat, so I had to mix in some dark & light metallics to get different shadings. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Rescue! I have all these coloured metallic paints in the TTC line so I wanted to try them out. What do you think of the colour and effect it has? #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 17/08/2026

Spider-Ham! This little guy came out better than I expected. I used Black Ink for the spider webbing & was very happy about how easy it was. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

Spider-man Noir! I wanted to do something more challenging with this model since otherwise it's such a straightforward scheme. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

Silk! I hadn't intended to paint her but then the scheme drew me in and I was trapped. I'm really happy with the face and mask this time around. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

Iron Monger! Was so happy to own an airbrush to for the basecoat and then filled in the shadows and highlights by brush. Flames took me longer! #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

Spider-man 2099! I wanted high contrast, so did my reserved black approach again, but then did a high contrast grey and white on his web cloak. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 13/07/2026

Kang the Conqueror! What a fun model! So many different colours and textures. I'm particularly pleased at how the swirling magic portal came out. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Quasar! I am pleased at how her black cape came out. I wanted to be restrainted on the greys to make it show as black and I think it worked out. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

Adam Warlock! I had so much fun painting this model and am really happy with how it came out. Red capes are apparently my jam. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

Tigra! I have to say, I wasn't particularly feeling her so she came out a bit blah. I think the front of her torso came out the best. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

Omega Sentinel! It was a fun working on brown flesh tones, a rarity. Tried to get the grey shadowing & pure white to not read as a whitish grey. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 03/06/2026

Now that UK Games Expo is over, I thought it be nice to take a group photo of all my painted Legion before I packed them away. 🙂 #starwarslegion #starwarslegionminiatures #starwarslegionclonewars #starwarslegionpainting

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 01/06/2026

Ultimate Spider-Man! I decided to try work the lightning up to the icy yellow paint in the TTC coats range and am really happy with the result. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 29/05/2026

Prowler! Kudos to the @atomicmassgames.bsky.social creatives for this evocative model. It tells so many stories from 1 pose. And just 2 colours! #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 28/05/2026

Mighty Avenger Spectrum ready for action at the UK Games Expo. I tried some light OSL, but it's simple. Do folks have some simple recipes? #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 27/05/2026

Padawan Ahsoka from Star Wars Legion! Such a tiny model. I'd like to thank the Legion Bluesky community for such support of my posts. I got lots of reactions from my last one. Very encouraging! #starwarslegion #starwarslegionminiatures #starwarslegionclonewars #starwarslegionpainting

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 26/05/2026

Commander Ahsoka from Star Wars Legion! Was challenging to paint her face and hair, but I'm pretty happy with how she came out. She'll debut at the UK Games Expo! :) #starwarslegion #starwarslegionminiatures #starwarslegionclonewars #starwarslegionpainting

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 05/05/2026

Blue Marvel! I was so happy to get to play with 2 sets of blues on this model. Ready for the attrition meta ahead! :D #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting #tabletoppainting #wargamespainting #paintingprotocol

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 01/05/2026

I finished up Moondragon! A bit of a nightmare for me as I'm colourblind and green shades are the shades I see least well, but I'm pretty happy on how she came out. I spent some time on her eyebrows and lips and am half-way happy with the results. I struggle with making thin eyebrows.

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 08/04/2026

Ronin! Tried a new triad of dark greys and happy with that result. Also tried some ochres from the Dark Arts line for the sashes and it was a great combination. The lamp was also primarily a Dark Arts colour. I didn't expect to be able to use the Zorn palette so much on colourful superhero models.

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 07/04/2026

Here's Echo from #marvelcrisisprotocol I used normal blacks for her uniform, but tried a different set of bluish-blacks from the Dark Arts TTC set for her boots and leg straps and that was a nice way to add some variety to her. Now to get her on the table to kick ass and look great doing it.

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 28/01/2026

The TX-130 Saber Tank from Star Wars Legion! I haven't worked on a vehicle in a long time so this was a fun project even though I made mistakes along the way. But for now, I'm just going to enjoy it. #starwarslegion #starwarslegionminiatures #starwarslegionclonewars #starwarslegionpainting

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 06/01/2026

Got out the entire set of models I own for Star Wars Legion so far to start the basing process. Was fun to see an army sized set of models down on the table. #starwarslegion #starwarslegionminiatures #starwarslegionclonewars #starwarslegionpainting

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 05/01/2026

I had some fun with my airbrush and painted up the Star Wars Legion measuring tools! #starwarslegion #starwarslegionminiatures #starwarslegionclonewars #starwarslegionpainting

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 04/01/2026

Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars Legion! So many delicious shades of beige and brown to work on. :) #starwarslegion #starwarslegionminiatures #starwarslegionclonewars #starwarslegionpainting

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 03/01/2026

The Jedi Guardian from Star Wars Legion. I used off-white on the armour followed by a grey wash & then highlighting it back up. Not as much of a fan of this look despite how much faster it is compared to layering. What do you think? #starwarslegion #starwarslegionminiatures #starwarslegionpainting

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 02/01/2026

This is my Jedi General model for Star Wars Legion. Tried one approach to do the white armour here which consisted of a layering approach with greys.

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 01/01/2026

I painted up the Jedi Knight for Star Wars Legion! I really enjoyed having a brown toned model to paint after so many colourful Marvel Crisis Protocol models. I especially enjoyed it because I got to make liberal use of my new Two Thin Coats Dark Arts paints.

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 21/12/2025

I was very pleased to have done 90% of this work with an air brush. I appreciate it is a large piece that makes it easier, but I was happy how well I could control the application of paint such that I could air brush next to areas already painted.

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 21/12/2025

I painted up some new Size 4 and 5 terrain to beef up my tables, considering the new terrain rules in Marvel Crisis Protocol!

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 05/12/2025

I got the new set of Dark Arts paints in from Two Thin Coats! They are based on the Zorn palette. Excited to slot them into the rest of my TTC collection and see how they change my paint scheme. Thanks Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy and Transatlantis Games!

I got to play my first game of Shroudfall with the great Patrick Dunford! Of course we weren’t doing everything right, but it was abundantly clear that the depth of this game and the agency it gives the players is off the chart.

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 08/11/2025

The Chosen of the Spirit Tree starter box assembled for Shroudfall! These were even easier to assemble than the Silver Line. Many in single pieces and no need for gap filling. Time for basing next.

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 06/11/2025

Silver Line Squad reporting for duty! This is my first time working with 3D printed models. These are models from the new game Shroudfall. Having fewer pieces to assemble was great! Learning how to work with superglue again after so long was a minor hurdle. :)

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 04/11/2025

I did a quick and (very) dirty unboxing for two of the new Shroudfall starter boxes. These are available for purchase right now. Have a look at what’s inside! youtu.be/oxsgIwR7KEU?...

Had a great time at a tournament in Cambridge today! Was especially nice to have a full carload of friends to ride up with me. 😊. Thanks to David Miller for running it!

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 09/09/2025

The Spider-Man alt sculpt! And with that, I've painted the entire Marvel Crisis Protocol range of models, including the alternative sculpts. What a journey it's been!

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 07/09/2025

Avalanche from Marvel Crisis Protocol! Was really fun to try out some turquoise colours from Two Thin Coats. I love how the fire hydrant and water pop against the background of all that concrete. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 13/08/2025

Lady Mastermind! I tried to get the eyes right on both bodies, but alas. Nonetheless, I'm pretty happy with the paint job, particularly the cheetah. That was a fun challenge. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 12/08/2025

Exodus! Argggghhhh, another amazing sculpt from AMG. They are knocking these out of the park. But yeah, 4 hours just painting white on that cape and it's only semi-OK. Onwards! #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 11/08/2025

Gladiator's sculpt is so sick! I love this model so much and very happy about how my paint job came out. This particular triad of red from TTC though is very tricky to work with. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting

Dr_Norbert @drnorbert.bsky.social · 29/07/2025

Shocker! Finally got around to finish off this 2-threat wannabe. I really enjoyed the different textures is paint scheme has. Made the shockwaves even more pronounced with the spotted highlights. #marvelcrisisprotocolminiatures #marvelcrisisprotocolpainting #miniaturespainting #wargamingpainting

Off to Brighton to mine some salt on this welcomed rainy day.
