Researcher friends: Has "transgender" always been a restricted search category on factiva? I'm (up too late) gathering cites for the anti-trans dorm ruling in Utah and any search I run with the word "transgender" is returning "no results" even when I know that's wrong.

a screenshot of factivia, with a red box around the search term "dormitory transgender" and a results pane showing no results

Patsy was the foster name of my own black and white companion, Chicken. Truly a comrade for the hard times.

A small dog (pitbull mix) sits in the grass smiling at the camera. She has a white belly, white legs, and a white stripe down the middle of her face. Her eyes, ears and body are black.

I'm giving a talk about how I use reverse engineering (aka, hacking into software) to make connections between social structures and data/code structures (useful for media studies, STS, crit data studies). Join us on ZOOM (or in person, at MIT) on Tuesday at 12p ET. Abstract ⬇️

I’m away from home at a conference so this is right on time! Norman (brown and white): found him on the side of the road last year; chicken (lower left): her mom was picked up starving and pregnant by a rescue in Utah; Martin (lower right): adopted by my wife after he was returned by two other ppl.
