This is a great example of why the old paradigm of treating organizations as machines and people within them as cogs is deeply outdated. Leadership that prioritizes flow state, values employees' input on the tasks they perform, and respects individual needs is the way forward.

How does Nature see injustice? The Biomimicry Institute notes that in Nature, there are consequences for infringing on another species' rights. Nature values accountability, and we should follow its example. Read their analysis of natural systems of justice: bit.ly/4lVBtKA #NatureWriting

🌿What if we looked to nature to understand rights? If rights are trulyinherent, they aren’t granted—they simplyare. So how does the natural world recognize and respond to violations of those rights across species? Biomimicry offers a compelling framework: In nature, when one species infringes on another’s right to life, liberty, or even happiness, there are consequences—social costs, warnings, avoidance, and even collective defense. These responses suggest a kind of natural accountability system. Could these interspecies dynamics guide how we think about laws and ethics that include more-than-human communities? When humans alter ecosystems and suffer the fallout, are we simply experiencing nature’s version of fair penalties? And if so—what might it look like to learn from those signals and shift our behavior accordingly? Exploring natural systems of justice could help ensure that our human frameworks for more-than-human rights are not only principled, but also intuitive, consistent, and deeply rooted in the...
