Yes, I've had to do this many times when people entered my (very small unit) for repairs while I was sleeping. I am extreme about precautions, but with air filters + good ventilation + distance I think risk is extremely low. I run 3 very powerful air filters in living room and one next to my bed.

Funny how the first two national cancer orgs that came up in my search say this is complete nonsense. Our bodies need sugar to survive, though obviously in moderation. And not sure if you are implying artificial sweetners are some how better but if so I'd love some of what you are smoking.

People do incredibly foolish and highly unlikely to succeed things when they are deep in the hole and desperate, often ensuring they do even worse damage rather than just stopping. The scams can't stop, but it would be wild for the real and profitable businesses to torch everything also.

YW. It's a common misunderstanding even for poker players, but there are spots where it is correct to fold even when you've put 75-90%+ of your chips in already because you have 0 or close to 0 equity... You see it most often in big $$ spots deep in PLO (Pot Limit Omaha) tournaments, for example.

More like sunk cost fallacy. In poker, pot committed means that you have the odds for the remaining value of your chips (resources) relative to the total pot value that you can win. There's no possibility of winning or getting a reasonable pot share back here, just a black hole.

It inspired me to get a high powered activated carbon filter. Regular HEPA filters do nothing for so many things. If you have asthma etc, and even if you don't probably, it's so worth it. My asthma was getting worse with all the fires and air pollution, but haven't had to use my inhaler in a year.

Unlike with Iraq and Libya etc., I agree with OP it won't work this time. The de-dollarization project is already too far underway, and the US can't bomb/kidnap/overthrow everyone, esp not China and Russia. China has already dethroned the US, even though everyone is pretending not to know that yet

This is at least part of why they did it. Ever since the US economic sanctions against in 2022-3 where they seized like $300b in Russian assets, weaponizing the SWIFT/US banking system, much of the world has been rushing to de-dollarize. And everything the US has done since further incentivizes it.

The shock so many of them are feeling about being harmed by the policies they voted for reflects this cognitive dissonance. They were unable to conceptualize in advance that economic policies that hurt those they hate would hurt them too, because to them they are two completely different groups.

I think, for most of them, politics and hate are for the *Other.* Family, friends aren't Others. They're known, and they're ok except for this one thing they can mostly overlook like an annoying habit. The inability to grasp the local implications of politics seems almost a psychosis with them.
