UO is likely my favorite video game of all time (my favorite being kind of mood dependent). Majuular crystalized aspects of it I probably wouldn't have verbalized on my own. I'm fairly disillusioned by the absolute avalanche of junk on YouTube these days.

If you played only one, I would choose Legacy of the Ancients. It's much more polished than Questron. But Questron is kind of a sentimental favorite for me. Juuuust the right amount of jank.

It has tons of back tracking and non-sensical direction. The worst part of these games is that they are all essentially the same, which was very disappointing. However, I would definitely recommend Questron and Legacy for anyone wants an old-style Ultima clone.

Random gaming update. I "finished" this series of C64 games. I only completed two of them, Questron and Legacy of the Ancients. I really enjoyed both of those. I found Questron II almost unplayable. The Legend of Blacksilver was OK, but just too long for what I was getting out of it.

I do not recall anything condescending. I do recall, it being a bit "contrived" at the beginning, kind of like pretending he's completely naive, when he's obviously not. But, that evened out pretty quickly. I found it very sincere honestly.
