Joel Eddy @drivethrugames.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Spent some time over the last few days watching this fantastic epic of a video (all 4+ hours of it). This video is without a doubt the best retrospective of Ultima Online that's out there. It's right up there with the Braving Brittania book series. www.youtube.com/watch?v=35SK...youtube.comUltima Online Retrospective | The Last HurrahYouTube video by Majuular 120

Joel Eddy @drivethrugames.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Expert intuition shouldn't be treated as experimentally established fact. That distinction is not pedantic. It is the foundation of how science works. And if the subject under discussion is the extinction of humans, maintaining that distinction is not optional. It's bare minimum standard of evidence 100
Joel Eddy @drivethrugames.bsky.social · 19/09/2026If you know you know. If you don't, read V for Vendetta. I love the movie, but they (probably necessarily) left out some salient plot threads. This particular one being very relevant right now. 031
Joel Eddy @drivethrugames.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Random gaming update. I "finished" this series of C64 games. I only completed two of them, Questron and Legacy of the Ancients. I really enjoyed both of those. I found Questron II almost unplayable. The Legend of Blacksilver was OK, but just too long for what I was getting out of it. 110

Joel Eddy @drivethrugames.bsky.social · 05/07/2026In regard to the red card for Balogun being revoked (and Messi not getting a card): The issue isn't card vs. no card. Calls are blown. It's part of sports. The issue is suspensions based on cards (and technical fouls in the NBA). THAT is such an idiotic approach. Keep everything in one magic circle. 220

Joel Eddy @drivethrugames.bsky.social · 30/06/2026As much as I was thrashing about the VAR offside (and that’s frankly a nitpick), this World Cup has had the best overall quality soccer in my lifetime. Very little flopping and trying to play disingenuously at the end of games. 130

Joel Eddy @drivethrugames.bsky.social · 27/06/2026I feel like something should change about offside in soccer. I don't know how you fix it though. Losing a goal (which is rare enough as it is) because of a dang toe is a little rough to take. 110

Joel Eddy @drivethrugames.bsky.social · 11/06/2026Still in shock over Game 4 yesterday. I don't want this series to end. If it goes 6 or 7 and the games are as close as the first four, this will go down as one of the all-time great Finals, no matter who wins. 110
Joel Eddy @drivethrugames.bsky.social · 09/06/2026Whew! I have no dog in this fight. But glad the Spurs got one today. This series has been much closer than a 3-0 lead would have appeared. The way the teams have played, we deserve a six or seven game series of this quality. 020
