1942 and 1943 were the only years where the entire RAF fighter order of battle was piston engine monoplanes. Their last biplane the Gloster Gladiator served until 1941. Their first jet the Gloster Meteor entered service in 1944. Gloster never had a major piston single engine fighter straight to jets

Bad take. Loads of times when political violence isn’t wrong. The (whatever color) pill of political history is that changes for the better often come though violence (the US Civil War and the abolition of slavery) or the threat of violence (the revolutions of 1830 and the Reform Bill of 1832)

I wish this was the case. But Trump and much of the American right are ideological fellow travelers of Putin and want him to win. There might be an economic component, but they will do as much to help Putin as they think they can get away with.
