I struggled to paint these last weeks but I finished my first Questing Knights. #warhammer #TheOldWorld #Bretonnia

While reading Bjorn the Fell Handed book by @justinhillauthor.bsky.social, I wanted to build the kit I have on my shelf since years.

Today I wanted to see if the castraferrum could bend the knee with some work. It's doable. Not easy but doable.

Side of the castraferrum legs with knee working.

I thought it was a map of Westeros.

I'm still disheartened by that book missing on my shelf. 😢

All Siège of Terra LE books bar 1 (The End and the Death Vol 3).

I finished reading the Jarnhamar trilogy. I started reading Hive.

First time I manage to take pictures of lightning. I'm quite happy.

Finished this part #WIP. No the back pack and the horse.

Charles @dried.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

These last days I painted 2 Drop Pods. I think I'll paint some Bretonnians again next.

I could explain why I saw this horror in a movie theater but I think it's funnier if I don't.

After all, why shouldn't I?

Tried to build a 40k 11th edition table just for fun. I quite like the result.

I developed a theory this morning about Orks. After seeing those horrible nails on the foot of Gork and knowing Orks are fungi... I'm pretty sure now Orks are in fact Gork's mycosis.

Horrible mycosis treatment add I want to forget badly

I'm honestly terrified, we live on the top floor of a small apartment building near Paris without air conditioning. It's 31°C right now in the kid's room and it's forecast to be even worse in the coming days.

I had a revelation today and I just had to get it off my chest. Sorry.

Yesterday I had a booth in an "association day" for my city where I presented my association (which isn't doing wargames only) to other inhabitants of the city. My most wholesome encounter with was a 13 year old and his mother.

Talking about his art this triptych of the Imperial Palace you saw opening the 3rd edition rulebook will always live rent-free in my head. It's everything defining 40k for me: gigantic, dark, mystic, mysterious and absurd (and so cool). He will be dearly missed by all.

I just reread my Codex this weekend, maybe my favourite SM codex but I think it may be mostly nostalgia. Can't wait to see Snipe and @wib.bsky.social take on it!

I don't know if it's my favourite but I really like the Bequin ones.

We are working on a 40k campaign for my club. We are building a website inspired by the Eye of Terror campaign to register the result and present the lore here is a teaser of what it looks like.

I also found this book. One of my best memories reading a rulebook.

I found some very old Space Wolves I painted 20+ years ago but can't find the axes. 😭

Here is my favourite dread of my collection.

Charles @dried.bsky.social · 09/04/2026

I started a little side project. Very fast painting. No pressure. The idea is to rest a little before the next project.

There is some amazing stuff but I particularly love this miniature by Bastien Salvador for a lot of reasons (he won a golden demon at Essen last year with it).

If you are near Paris you can see my miniatures at Montrouge.

A slightly better angle picture. I struggled a lot to find the golden angle but I think it's this one.

Tonight's #WIP. The shield still needs a few touch ups but it's 99% done. Tomorrow I'll try to paint the base.

Ah no it's an ERC-90 Sagaie

Post a non-religious picture you think of as holy.

I finished Arjac's body. Now the head, the shield and the base. #WIP

I had tremendous fun doing this so I may be doing this again in the future.

Last night my game was cancelled so I decided to take my camera instead and took a few pictures of the other players army.

3304

Charles @dried.bsky.social · 20/03/2026

Yeah that's why I stopped painting yesterday. I took this picture just before going to bed (as I often do). But I think I found what I dont like, it should look more like this :

Mock up of the hammer with correct lights

Tonight's #WIP I may have to do a few touch-ups tomorrow.

2493

Charles @dried.bsky.social · 18/03/2026

#WIP I'm nearly finished with the body of my next Space Wolves miniature. (Next are weapons and face).

WIP of Arjac Rockfist. His shield and head are not glued yet. The paint on the body is nearly finished.

Yes! I still have my army from this era. Every miniature cost a lot of money for me at the time (because everything was in metal), but I fell in love with those Grey Knights and Inquisitor. So I had to add a lot of equipment to get to the points I needed with my lack of revenue as a teenager.
