@labradog.bsky.social Road bikes are only cycling when they’re heavy steel; otherwise they are carbon conveyances, with no benefit of exercise. Cycling is for exercise and carbon bikes mean less exercise. I'm not gatekeeping - anyone who enjoys carbon bikes should do so That’s how silly this sounds

Best proselytizing tool: get them to google things like cargo bike or specific bike brands/orgs. Once the conversation is over, the algorithm will feed them everything they need. If you show them things on your phone is does nothing because they will forget everything

The bike shop I work at here in Boston is looking to become a US distributor. However, it has been difficult to gauge local and regional interest. BIH doesn’t have a ton of up-front support to offer us. I’m still hoping it will happen.

Oh absolutely. I’ve biked every day for more than ten years and have ridden dozens of e-cargo bikes. This was the first trike that actually handled well. All the other ones are clunky. The components on the BIH are top of the line and the Shimano motor is second only to Bosch.

The price here is a little steep imo. Admittedly we haven’t seen too many Gen 1 S+ on the used market though. It has the Perfomance Line motor which is better than the Active Line Plus motor sold on many gen1 HSDs. Hopefully a gen 3 duostand

My advice that you aren’t asking for… If you have the dough, do not wait. If you don’t have the dough, do everything in your power to change that. E-cargo bikes fundamentally change the way we interact with our communities. They make mundane tasks that would be done by car feel extraordinary

Just saw the new @bromptonbicycle.bsky.social P-Line, and it’s impressive. The Pacific lacquer in combination with their brazing is stunning. Hardware substantially improved from the T-line. Stem from the G-Line. All around lots of innovative improvements. And it fits in a cargo bike of course!

I said the exact same thing, then I bought one! I’ve ridden bikes for almost 11 years and I’ve never had more fun. However, I don’t recommend the Carrie. It’s not small enough to be compact and not big enough to be truly capable of hauling large loads

Councilor Flynn has called for the purchase of snow melters. Please don’t waste money on these. What we really need is equipment and part time contractors to clear curb ramps and sidewalks. I should be working part time clearing ramps, not being paid by wealthy people to clear their cars.

I rode the Black Iron Horse cargo bike (trike) when I was in Zurich. WHY AREN’T THESE AVAILABLE IN THE US?! The ride is so smooth and you can whip this thing at speed.

@ridebluebikes.bsky.social Serious question. When are you going to change the way e-bike rides are priced? Right now you are giving people an incentive to ride unnecessarily fast to avoid extra costs. By implementing a per mile or hybrid model of pricing, I imagine this would change behavior. ✌️
