A fantasy book cover showing Aelira, a warrioress riding a hang‑glider sled pulled by a large flock of giant eagles. She wears light armor and carries a spear while flying above a misty hillside lined with eyries and launch cages. The title “Skybound Kin” and author “N. G. Ivan” appear in gold lettering, with an Amby Awards 2026 “Llamazing Participant” sticker in the corner.

I understand it's you're reframing it again since you're trying to avoid the point about stochastics so you're back on sustainable — it's not efficient. Batteries use coal and metcoal. They are heavy and wear out, cause congestion and nuisance and deliver few benefits unless in miniature sometimes.

drewlingering.bsky.social @drewlingering.bsky.social · 12/03/2026
I'm not. You are — persistently BEV. Engage with the points instead of resetting the conversation every reply. "Aw yeah, sure we'll just piggyback transatlantic battery electric planes"

drewlingering.bsky.social @drewlingering.bsky.social · 12/03/2026
Why would you choose to do that when it’s clearly the least efficient pathway? Why would you choose to use coal in a power station to charge a battery electric vehicle? Why would you opt for a stochastic pathway when firm already exists?

Upstream emissions are eliminated. There's no fossil power plant. That’s the point of using H₂ in the first place. It’s that you keep comparing best‑case BEV to worst‑case H₂ and then acting as if that settles the physics. Engage with the points instead of resetting the conversation every reply.

SAF keeps the existing system running. Hydrogen builds the next one. The industry needs one — but only hydrogen scales to true zero‑carbon long‑haul. You did say hydrogen was uneconomical and you didn't acknowledge gravimetic metric energy density before. You also said the tanks would be too big.

drewlingering.bsky.social @drewlingering.bsky.social · 11/03/2026
Arguing the case against as you've both done inevitably reinforces business as usual, because as I've already explained batteries just shift the point of emissions whereas fuel cells are efficient AND abate. I harangue because it's unfair the way you both compare best case BEV to worst FCV always.

drewlingering.bsky.social @drewlingering.bsky.social · 11/03/2026
You’re assuming today’s limits are permanent. H₂ scales where batteries hit physics and SAF hits supply. Calling LH₂ “impossible” while treating gigaton‑scale SAF as trivial is backwards — both require new infrastructure, and only H₂ actually improves long‑haul efficiency (bulk of emissions).

drewlingering.bsky.social @drewlingering.bsky.social · 10/03/2026
you need to remember a fuel cell is more efficient than even the best jet turbine batteries weigh too much even on a short haul flight carrying passengers + luggage + no infra LH₂ has poor volumetric energy density vs Jet A, but 3× the gravimetric energy density, not a raw physics impossibility.

drewlingering.bsky.social @drewlingering.bsky.social · 10/03/2026
Batteries weigh far more than both jet engines (especially)and fuel cells. The latter *is* electrification.

It's not a few; the Nexo shifted tens of thousands now HFCEV is in production instead of a test bed.

It's already there! This is the problem reading posts like this. Hydrogen is in JetA, JetP and Kerosene or whatever. What's this gasify pipeline nonsense from someone who claims to know about physics, try chemistry.

drewlingering.bsky.social @drewlingering.bsky.social · 10/03/2026
We still use steam engines. It's what powers a BEV. Steam turbines using coal are very old. Who's silly? Lead acid batteries are in nearly every ICE vehicle still. Why? Lithium is so expensive and rare.
000
drewlingering.bsky.social @drewlingering.bsky.social · 10/03/2026
Let's try physics anyway. If the FCV is twice the efficiency of prime movers it betters a BEV. This is because the BEV shifts the emission point to inefficient central coal power stations and requires them to operate on standby for longer. Inverters likewise despite a third for capacity factor.

Going back to the 1800s you could relabel it BEV v ICE and get the same result in fact. If a person compares everything else to the very first of a kind of a thing it can hardly be called fair. Intermittency and range anxiety. Solved.

drewlingering.bsky.social @drewlingering.bsky.social · 09/03/2026
I think this is small passenger vehicles possibly. Overall, they'll do fine because they have the range for planes, trains, trucks — in places where there's no infrastructure. If I take you back to the 1800s battery vehicles didn't do too well then as now, did they?

I saw you on YouTube criticizing H2 FCV internals as too complex compared to BEVs. Yes, they take up more space inside, but they’re much lighter. Do you also have something against horses or what? This complexity rant you apply to well to wheel economics by electrolysis, as if it’s the only way.
