tangent but "sending a sticker and then everyone else sends the same sticker" is the mobile game equivalent of jumping next to people in MMOs. always puts a smile on my face. This Is Human Communication

Started Cai's route in FEFW, thought about it and I'm kind of intrigued about it especially after Leda's Already it starts with a lot of things I was not expecting, not this early. Also the early game really does go by so much faster without all the tutorials in the way.

Champions is fun because some days I will get totally crushed under the weight of the meta and on other days knowing how to pilot a silly team means you aren't as careless because you're used to being like a cornered rat trying to find any way out

And this is right after a game I predicted an Archaludon Pelipper lead with my Raichu Y and just totally deleted them from turn 1, so I was already like. Okay I want to end on a game I actually work for Not like this......

... But I didn't forfeit because I think it's polite to just let them get the knockout. So Bellibolt.... protects, throwing the game as Lucario knocks out Incineroar. I spent the whole last two turns groaning that I was already gg'ing them in my head... Your win cons, man......

Neck and neck match overall against an interesting team, running Zard X instead of Y with their Raichu, and Incineroar/Bellibolt in the back But at the end it was solo Lucario Z vs. those two and their Bellibolt lived an Aura Sphere at 1 HP, there was no way he was living either of their attacks

Ough just had a Champions match I don't feel good about winning, but it's a lesson in never forfeiting when there's still a chance for player error

The "yuri is male gaze" debate becomes gut-bustingly hilarious once you realize that, more often than not, the genre is created by female mangaka sitting at their desks like:

The latter is also a straight pipeline to the former because they think they're immune to slop, and that opens them up to falling for it. Seen very accomplished people succumb to this and start trusting it more than themselves. It's uniquely and solely good at Looking correct when unchallenged.

Just to isolate the fallacy here, all my coworkers use Claude and every single time they do it fucking sucks. They may all use it, but it's definitely not actually related to the job getting done. Like if all your coworkers were stoners it's still not the weed doing the programming yk

Anyway good morning I thought I had something important to do at work today but it's a regular day so I'm just gonna be late, fuck them.

I get it though, the dunk is a little informative sometimes. That something out there sucks and you shouldn't pay it any mind. But I think I'm getting better at figuring that out from base principles already

Seeing a looot of qrts this morning that could have just been a block. On the bright side I have a lot of new accs I've blocked for the future

Between this and the game punishing you with a bot match every time you lose before you're like, Ultra rank, makes the beginning of a new season such a slog. I actually think that's the most grievous thing they do though. I play this to play against real people, I don't care about my damned rank

Hat @drestlemare.neocities.org · 08/10/2026

Ugh, Pokemon Champions froze up after a battle ended just now... I lost that match but I'm actually twice as upset bc of that because that means they're going to think I ragequit at the last second. It was a good match!! ;;

It's demoralizing that it can churn out something you might have had to research or look up, but the very act of doing so and coming out of it with that knowledge is worth 1000x more than a one-and-done "solution", some just don't understand that until one week has passed and it's abandonware

Hat @drestlemare.neocities.org · 08/10/2026

From one dev (of a sort) to another, take solace that the speed or efficacy of what it makes pales in comparison to your own result being comprehensible. You know what it's made of and can improve on it in ways that vibe coders can't even think to do, because they definitionally don't want to learn.

Fefw is not even a month old and this is already the meme of all time I fear. I can HEAR this in her voice lmaoo

Screenshot of a discord chat with Leda and Bertrand FEFW overlaid atop it. Leda's user removes a long list of other users from the server, referincing the Mahdel List, then says "Now it's just you and me. I'm going to do things to you". Bertrand is the only one left and starts frantically spamming "??? HELP" with increasingly desperate typos

Only done Leda's route pt. 1 so far, but Sirocco was "Unstoppable God" tier for me, somehow. Despite what his growths said he was getting all stats up almost every level so he had high str and mag, almost 2nd highest def to Buccar, with his self-healing passive and highly accurate high crit magic
