Are people constantly editing the Smoke Sensor low battery blip into their videos for the epic lulz, or does no-one ever change the battery in their literal life saving equipment? At this point AI is probably going to replace us for our own good, like putting Grandpa in a home for his own safety 😅

One of the worst parts of living almost directly across from a pub is the multiple, terrible, weekly karaoke renditions of "I Will Survive", which honestly could be classed as legitimate war crimes...

Seeing #InsidiousIntoTheFurther tonight before work. I have a genuine soft spot for the #Insidious franchise, despite initially not being hugely impressed with the very first film back in...*checks notes*...2010!? 16 years!? Where did my life go 😫

I have a new book out! Sent to Restoration London in a pioneering time-travel project, historian Shelagh Harris finds herself instead stranded in 800BC Kent. Unable to get home by herself, she has to figure out how to survive and adapt. For fans of time travel, archaeology, and nameless horrors.

People think I have a GPS tracker in my car so I can track it in the event of theft, which I'll admit, is handy, but the reality is it's so I can find wherever I parked the bastard thing when I go back to work after my four days off each week 😅 #AgeingMillenialProblems

So a property management company linked to my building thought the previous owner was still living in our flat and are saying we owe £450 in unpaid ground rent because they've no record of us paying as they didn't know we lived here even though we've paid every year via our RTM. I just can't...

My colleague just sent me one of her Facebook memories, and it said seven years ago today we were in Dering Woods (The Screaming Woods) in #Pluckley doing a Ghost Hunt. It was a good night, but unfortunately the "scariest" thing we saw was a group of drugged up chavs who thought they were hard.

I watched #Marebito last night. Its been on my watchlist for ages after I saw it featured several times on "Best Japanese Horror" and "Best Found Footage Horror" lists, and is seemingly raved about on #Letterboxd I honestly couldn't agree less. An utterly dire slog of a film.

#Startpage is great and all, but just lately, every time I perform a search from the address bar (Firefox Mobile) I get a very slow "Verifying Your Request" check that often takes ages to clear. I know its due to VPN use, but no other search engine takes this long. Time to move to another provider?

I will also accept a journalist who has made the same life choices as the aforementioned Detective.

I've got a real hankering to watch a Japanese horror featuring a bedraggled, heavy smoking, divorced/widowed Detective who gets tangled up in investigating a crazy paranormal occurrence.

One of my proud right wing male colleagues just said "Why don't we have Straight Pride? That's how it should be!" Sweetie. Honey. It is 00:28 on a Sunday. We're all very tired, and I have neither the time, energy, nor vocabulary right now to pull that statement to shreds.

Speaking of my #YouTube channel. It's impossible to fully #deGoogle when you have to rely on awful platforms such as YouTube to get your media out there to an audience. Are there any real alternatives? Platforms like #NebulaTV seem great, but also appear to be very cliquey invite only scenarios.

When you decide to revisit a video topic you started years ago and realise how manic you were at the time because none of your notes make sense and you have about thirty started and abandoned scripts all with about two or three paragraphs 🫣

Finally managed to record and add a Green Woodpecker to my Life List on the #MerlinBirdID app whilst at work yesterday. I see them all the time at work and the local area, and have been trying to record one for ages, but they just kept evading me.

I absolutely can not wait for @mikeflanaganfilm.com's take on #Carrie. Carrie (1976) has been in my top five favourite films of all time since I first saw it well over 20 years ago, and given his track record, and the fantastic cast, I know Mike Flanagan & co. will have done an awesome job of it!

I've been patrolling my site today and decided to go into our Community Garden and Allotments with my #OMSystem #TG-7. These aren't my greatest photos ever but the best from the bunch. I shot them all in RAW, but these are the unedited JPEGs straight from the camera. #Photography #Nature #Flowers

I really wanted to like #Passenger, but I can honestly say I have never been so uninvested in a horror movie. Boring story, action and jump scares were tropey and predictable, and the characters were all 2-D. There was a hint of potential for a good story, but everything just needed a lot more.

Gonna start/continue work on a new video I think. I have so many shelved ideas that I want to dust off. In the mean time, hey how about you #subscribe and binge my channel?

Our new fridge-freezer has an alarm to alert you if either door has been left open. Great! But not so great when I'm staring endlessly into the fridge trying to decide what to eat, or if I'm even hungry, or just simply contemplating all my life choices. I don't need that kind of pressure.

Very tragic end to this story. Regardless of what Jason Arday allegedly did or didn't do, or your feelings towards him and the scandal story overall, he certainly did not deserve a death sentence, self inflicted or otherwise, and his family did not deserve to lose him.

Its crazy how much #Polari people in the UK still use without even realising they're using it, or having any awareness as to it's importance within the early to mid 1900s gay subcultures in the UK. And I find it especially amusing when aggressively straight, gammon faced cis men use it.

My OS Explorer 150 arrived yesterday. It covers the #Canterbury area and #Thanet. I know this area of #Kent relatively well despite being a Medway boy, but its about time I went off the beaten track more. Let me know if you have any suggestions for good hikes in the area.

I've seen so many videos online of miserable Brits saying how the #Eclipse "wasn't as good as they expected" and "was a bit dull." I know these things aren't for everyone, but have we honestly got to the point where even something as rare and fantastic as a solar eclipse is brushed off as "meh..."

000

Drennan @drennan.uk · 13/08/2026

And before anyone says "What do expect, its a compact point and shoot", I definitely know its possible to really push this camera far, as I did a lot of research prior to purchase, and have seen some stunning images online from other #TG-7 owners who have really put this camera through its paces.

000

Drennan @drennan.uk · 13/08/2026

I took the TG-7 out during the Eclipse, and it's definitely going to be compromises and a learning curve. I never expected it to replace my Canon 40D for quality, I just wanted a nice point and shoot, but I'm struggling to get it set up just right to get the best out of it, even with shooting RAW 😓

Why didn't I watch "I See You" sooner!? I'd put it to one side ages ago on my "When I'm Bored" watchlist because all the promo images made it look like just another Scream-like Slasher with that masked figure, but it couldn't be further from it! Turned out to be quite an unexpected gem. #ISeeYou
