Managed to get a little work done on my WIP today. Complex details like checking the timeline to be sure stuff is happening in sequence, ensuring continuity, making notes in sequel plans for follow-through, and so on. Draining, isn’t it? #writers know. Gonna rest now. Read someone else’s book. 😉

Did OK at my signing yesterday. Sold six books in four hours. Might’ve done more, but the rain scared a lot of the customers away for a while. That’s OK. My face and my name and my book covers are now in the minds of people who had never seen them before. I’m planting seeds. #writinglife🙂

Finished my first sweep through "The Way In," making all the easy changes. The second sweep will be the tougher changes--checking consistency, etc. That will take longer The hardest bits--adding tension, cutting unnecessary backstory, etc.--will probably happen next weekend. #writinglife

TFW I'm deeply engrossed in #edits on my MS, making changes to scenes on other worlds, and my S.O. blows me a kiss from across the room, and it takes me a minute to "hear" him and return the kiss... My excuse? I was on the Levyron Colony World, and there was a time lag in communications. 😁

I love when I'm going through beta comments and one of my readers says something like, "I *knew* she stowed away!" or "Nice redemption arc!" or "Oh, I hope they're gonna get together!" It makes me happy to know my #stories have that kind of effect on my #readers!

Today, 1 of my readers said he still SEES scenes from my book, Entheóphage, how music from his playlist feels like it should be the score from my book's movie, how he never remembers other books so vividly as Entheóphage. As a writer, I keep reminding myself that I cannot please every reader. What some love, others will hate. Here's a clear proof to that theory--comments from two different beta readers on the same chapter in my current WIP, at the same exact point (the chapter's end). #writesky

Two comments from a document critique; top one says "I wonder if the chapter can end with a bit more of a cliffhanger than a promised brainstorming session? It doesn't make a reader want to keep going as, for example, a promise of revenge..." The bottom one says, "At this point, I'm all in, and wish I didn't have to go and do some other things."
