Since the silent era, Cartoons have become a new form of intelligent life trying to co-exist with human creators. One such case was Dean Boyd, a cartoonist from Detroit who created Scarlett J. Swan (A cartoon character whose fame has gone to her head). Funnily enough, Cartoon antics don’t result in real world consequences (Cartoon Falling Anvils just cause a bump on the head, and not death.) The hypothesis is that exposure to Cartoon characters helps develop an immunity to Cartoon antics for humans, which is how they’re able to complete feats that would be realistically impossible (Painting a functional Tunnel on a wall, or being flattened by a clothes wringer). Scarlett maybe a bit of a diva, but like real swans, she can be very aggressive when protecting her family (Adopted, technically).

fur affinity has been running for 21 years, is one of the largest archives of queer art online, and one of the few art sites that has not switched to some kind of infinite feed bullshit and it's being strangled over "adult" art. suspiciously wealthy furries now is your time to paypig for culture

What makes this situation frustrating is that the bar for what advertisers consider “adult content” is very very low. For example they consider plus size characters, two characters hugging, and “barbie doll nudity” to be adult content, despite these being normal everyday things that are not adult at all. This is why you may see other sites with restrictions on how characters can’t be posed or dressed “too provocatively.”

We receive a daily list of items that they have flagged as violations and have to sort through them. If they’re legitimate violations, we re-rate them. If they aren’t, we don’t touch them. Submissions that are not violations of our policies are still held against us.

We have had many email conversations, Zoom calls, and even an in-person meeting with representatives to help resolve this to no avail.
