At no point was I convinced Bear actually wanted Nikki. Instead it felt like he was doing that thing queer folk do when we're just starting to get a sense that where what we think we *should* feel doesn't match up with what we actually feel, so we convince ourselves that we're just confused.

Trans people fought for gay rights. They already worked for the greater good, for decades. The coalition was strong because we *all supported each other*. We all marched together. Now trans folk are finding that their "turn" isn't coming, but they still need to sacrifice for the greater good.

The reason I'm so bullish on this is that I remember all the trans folk being told to wait their turn until we got marriage equality, and then we would fight for their rights. And then Obergefell happened and suddenly all the cis gay support for trans rights never materialized.
