I saw a crazy tiktok debate recently about constructive feedback in the comments of fics. Every author was BEGGING readers to stop doing that and SO MANY people were arguing they just wanted to "help the author to improve". Do not help me!! I'm not a professional author!! I'm just having fun!

Fan fiction writers will craft book-length pieces with the promise of no monetary gain, all for the love of the craft and the fandom. People writing for months on end amidst their busy lives. It’s a testament to the fact that humans will create with no other incentive than for the joy creating.

writers gifting fic to artists based on their drawings and artists gifting art based on fics is the purest form of fandom at its core.
