I got the unpleasant experience of visiting Toronto General this winter on a Saturday night when it was -20. I will never, ever complain about my small towns ER again. Like how does one not be phased when your fingers are black below the knuckles even with complete psychosis.

I was talking to my daughter last night about this. I once thought when she was writing everything down it was slowing her down. Gave her credit, said I was wrong. She wishes she could write faster as she is the generation that wasn't taught cursive too (did a bit with me, but not enough).

Just a professor standing in front of BlueSky demoralized because exams my students used to get a mean of 83% on prior to 2020 are now failed in large numbers. It seems that their ability to APPLY concepts to new contexts/domains has all but disappeared. I love these students & I am worried.

I pulled my kid 2020, grade 7. She was a Chromebook kid, takes hand notes for everything. She went back for grade 9 and I pulled her again. Did mostly virtual school. She is top of class and was one of 3 kids in her program to get into the most competitive program at her school, rad tech. Novid.

I read a recent study about this. Kids using laptops to take notes did worse than those taking written notes. Absorbs into the brain better. My kid had a chromebook since grade 6, first year at college, top of her class. She writes everything down and has notebooks for everything. NoVid

I have also never had to boost it and I've owed it for years. -30 no problems with mine. 2024 models I think had a problem starting when it was really cold, but I understand that was fixed for them.

Charge in a reg. outlet overnight for around $1 a day. You can tow upto 1500 pounds but you would need to add a hitch.

I have Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and I love it! I have an older model 2019 and it's still going strong. A new one can do about 70km on battery only. AC or Heat you will get less. When using just gas you still get much better mileage than an ICE vehicle.

I'm in Canada it's free here and it becomes available at the end of October after Canadian Thanksgiving or peak of the fall wave. My daughter got covid 2 weeks before the vaccine was available this year. They offer seniors a 2nd spring dose, might be able to get one then while they are in stock.

Most people can't get vaccinated because they have had covid in the six months leading up to November. You got kids boom September -Thanksgiving wave takes them down. It's a joke that they are treating COVID the same as the FLU.

We have an N protein instead of the S spike protein vaccine showing a lot of promise, I believe it's in stage three trials. Doesn't mutate and higher efficacy. Inhaled vaccine that is better. We don't need America never did. We need the rest of world and the medical community to demand it!

Sick and tired? Influenza test positivity is very high in Ontario and remains the highest in children (5-11 yrs) at 73.3% and adolescents (12-19 yrs) at 67.3%. COVID-19 and RSV are also circulating. These viruses are airborne: we get sick by breathing them in! But it doesn't have to be this way!

It really shouldn't matter how old a teacher was that died. They disabled a lot, killed a lot and younger teachers too. Older teachers were not offered a safer work environment.
