This biomechanical study found that their Psittacosaurus specimen was unsuited for jugal horn stabbing behaviors. The specimen they analyzed was the one pictured here. The jugal horns aren’t *terribly* developed in this specimen.

So surprisingly, Miracinonyx trumani in the Yukon show evidence of specializing on fish, while those in Wyoming were generalist terrestrial predators.

I'm kind of disappointed to say that this is my favorite design for the Jersey devil. It's not that I think it's bad, it's just that I feel almost every other depiction looks incredibly mid.

Sleep deprivation is a horrible torment I wouldn't wish on my worst enemies. You want to sleep, you need it, badly, but it doesn't come. Within just a few days you become a haggard mess, barely hanging in there. Your mind near totally fried.

#Disney #2000s #PaleoMedia Fun fact: Tylosaurus was originally going to be included in Disney's Dinosaur. Concept art and even a CGI model were made but sadly it ultimately didn't make the final cut.

#Transformers Another reason why I prefer the AllSpark origin from '07 Bay & TFA is that, unlike Primus, the Cube isn't a person, but a thing. I find the divine is far harder to scrutinize when it lacks a face, a voice, a persona. This truly ethereal, unknowable thing.

Today’s four random pieces of palaeoart: Donna Braginetz’ Struthiomimus, Diana Magnuson’s Megalosaurus, William Scheele’s Cladoselache, and Anthony Rao’s Diplodocus!

A pair of scaly, black and white Struthiomimus forage in a forest clearing. The individual in the foreground prepares to bite into a leafy twig, while the background individual runs off with a mouthful of tiny mammal.

A towering milky grey-white Megalosaurus feeds her long-armed young with a ragged strip of flesh. An impressionistic tropical forest surrounds them.

Two dark-spotted Cladoselache glide over rippling sands in shallow coastal waters.

A massive, heavyset Diplodocus heaves itself up onto a sandy shore. Its long neck arches high above its shoulders, while its serpentine tail coils as it drags behind it. Another giant sauropod wades in a lake in the distance.

Spinosaurus from Prehistoric Monsters Revealed (2008). It is literally the Jurassic Park III Spinosaurus. Trust me when I say that it moves like a fairground animatronic, and this is mid-dislocating its shoulders

I think ichthyosaurs in general could have been dangerous even to animals too large to be their prey. Some could dismember relatively large vertebrates, so they should’ve been able to rip apart the fins of a similarly massive animal.
