I was a kid when I got into bands like Metallica and Megadeth, so I loved them uncritically. After an unintentionally funny interview on Headbangers Ball, and with song titles like “Real Eyes, Realize, Real Lies”, Machine Head were the first band that made me think, wait, is metal… kind of silly?

It could be filmed entirely on location in Victoria but they make it look like the whole thing’s green screen. If I indulge my conspiratorial side, I’d think they were deliberately making shows increasingly unreal so we get used to it and don’t realise when they swap over to AI generated slop.

#LastSeen is another show that may be well written, directed, cast, and performed, but is so overdone with amber and teal colouring, digital lighting and blurred backgrounds, that it gives the whole show an uncanny, AI look that ruins the reality for me.

I must go into some kind of pleasure trance watching Game Changer. They could all be half an hour long or an hour and a half long, I couldn’t tell you. Except that one time I tried introducing the show to my sister and it was clear she wasn’t enjoying it. That episode dragged for centuries.
