Disingenuous Analysis. Top earning households who earn income (wages) pay personal income taxes. The ultra rich aren’t “income earners” and often don’t pay income taxes, this stat is used to keep the public from demanding that the ultra rich pay their fair share: lies, damn lies, and statistics.

On one level I’m pleased by the effort to balance a generation of gerrymandering, but on the other, man is it a phyrric victory in the battle for democracy. Amending the Constitution to ban the practice should be the priority. To bend Clausewitz, gerrymandering is but war by political means.
