Man this makes me want to go do a quick search on Newspapers.com... aaaand... Oh no... I may be falling down a rabbit hole of the development of the idea of cosmic horror before Lovecraft. Here's Feb 3, 1905, from the Larned (Kansas) Chronoscope:

I made the Times' Cranberry Curd Tart this morning, but on a friend's advice I used Clare Saffitz's sweet tart crust instead of the Times' hazelnut one. I've never made a pastry crust before. I've never made curd before. I think it came out OK but this was TERRIFYING. Not quite ready for GBBO!
