A man with a vacant look on his face making pursed lips, like Ben Stiller in Zoolander. He is wearing a ball cap that is a pattern of dollar bills with the SF Giants logo askew on his head.

Great piece, especially this part.
Screenshot of segment of the article shared in the quoted post that reads:

"But as his media profile expands, these incidents matter *more* than they did when he was only playing. At some level, his primary job is to play football; relay the play in the huddle, call audibles at the line, read defenses after the snap and deliver the ball to the intended receiver.

It’s a job that comes with attention and a public profile, but it is not fundamentally reliant on whether he is a good role model. In the media, however, his job *is* his personality. He is cast as likable and approachable and so our understanding of his behavior becomes ever more important.

And while Winston has never been charged with crimes over the allegations against him, he has never expressed sympathy for the ordeal Kinsman went through – the death threats and harassment she endured. In fact, the one person he seems most worried about is someone else accused of sexual assault."

First panel is a woman looking at her phone and saying "my gawd these Trump people are racist" and a man in a MAGA hat popping in to say "that attitude is what's pushing me to be racist!"

Second panel woman says "say what?" The man says "might as well! You say I'm a Nazi so fine I'll be a Nazi if that makes you happy."

3rd panel the woman says "it... doesn't" as the man says "I bought this waffen SS uniform for Halloween. You'll cry 'offensive' so maybe I'll just wear it every day."

They say they've been working with Pattie for years to avoid this situation, which was finally triggered by the decision to start selling clothing, and I'm assuming a cease and desist came before the suit, which would have avoided the legal fees.

"While we wish we didn't have to do this - and actively engaged with Pattie for several years to avoid this - it has become necessary to protect the brand we have spent the last 50 years building," the company said in January.

"We want Pattie to have a long and successful career and make progress on issues that matter - but in a way that respects Patagonia's intellectual property and ability to use our brand to sell products and advocate for the environment."

Still from Chargers Cowboys game on 2nd and 9 for Herbert's first dropback. Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen seem to be running the same route about 5 yards past the line of scrimmage and only a couple of yards away from each other. Herbert threw to them and Ladd caught the ball but was immediately tackled, due to the two defenders that were right there too because of the lack of route spacing.

The NFL does at least do that for the markets of the teams playing in the game, but it is a limited area. It's certainly not open to the whole country, and doesn't help someone who's state funded the stadium but are too far from the city. Example from this week (courtesy of @506sports.bsky.social)

If the FG was good, that doesn't invalidate the decision to have gone for 2. Regardless of the go for 2 decision they would have lost, as then an additional possession/score was needed.
In the Packers game that inspired Seth Walder’s ESPN victory lap, the Packers nearly lost. Saints kicker, Blake Grupe, barely misses a walk-off 46-yard field goal. Grupe was 8 for 10 from that range in 2023, and his kick was just wide right. You might say in this case that the Packers were metaphorically hitting on 18. Sure, their decision played out right, but only because an event with an 80% chance of success didn’t pan out.

Well it is south of the Mason-Dixon line. Had the opposite issue though in high school in San Diego where my ostensibly smart classmates in AP US History thought it was part of New England. I think the key is spreading awareness of the concept of the Mid-Atlantic region.
Excerpt from the Wikipedia page for "Dixie" that reads:

Although Maryland is not often considered part of Dixie today,[2][3] it is below the Mason–Dixon line. If the origin of the term Dixie is accepted as referring to the region south and west of that line (which excludes Delaware despite it having been a slave state in 1861), Maryland lies within Dixie. It can be argued that Maryland was part of Dixie before the Civil War, especially culturally.[4] In this sense, it would remain so into the 1970s, until an influx of people from the Northeast made the state and its culture significantly less Southern (especially Baltimore and the suburbs of Washington, D.C.).[3] However, Southern Maryland and the Eastern Shore still remain culturally Southern and share many traits associated with Dixie.[5]

Some really great information on the Rams draft process in this piece on Gladstone. A lot of attention to detail. www.nytimes.com/athletic/629...
Gladstone took the lead. He, current Rams scouting strategy director Nicole Blake and analytics head Jake Temme built out surveys that scouts could privately fill out about prospects in tandem with the layers of analysis they inputted into JAARS, the Rams’ in-house data and information processing system.

Gladstone mapped out conversations based on the data he collected: Did an introverted scout feel especially passionate about a prospect? Gladstone found ways to elevate that scout’s voice where he’d otherwise be happy under the radar. Did Gladstone catch an especially cogent point in a note buried in JAARS? He’d take a moment to highlight it when it would resonate during position group arguments. Armed with new information late in an evaluation, he’d flag an old concern that flared up early in the process so the group could re-litigate.As debates closed, Gladstone distributed a survey created by himself, Blake and Temme nicknamed “Make him a Ram.” The aim was to discover who each evaluator would most like to draft based on character, traits, athleticism, medical information and more. Answers stayed anonymous.

Verse and Fiske emerged both individually and as the top linebacker/lineman pairing. After a failed attempt to trade into the top 10 for tight end Brock Bowers before the first round began, Gladstone, Snead and McVay moved to the tandem strategy. Both Verse (pick No. 19) and Fiske (pick No. 39) were finalists for the Defensive Rookie of the Year award, which Verse won.Gladstone and Snead developed alternative methods for gathering intel on prospects prior to the draft. Instead of hosting “30 visits,” or attending en masse all-star events like the Senior Bowl or scouting combine in the spring, the Rams send specific employees to spend a day with players of interest at their college or in their hometown. As long as the visits are within a 50-mile radius of either site, they don’t have to be reported to the league and often don’t leak.Keeping their interest in prospects private was strategically important, but it was even more crucial for Gladstone and Snead to get players to break down plays and teach their scheme in their own environments instead of the truncated interview periods at pre-draft events or the job interview-style 30 visits. Select scouts go to the all-star events to distribute a personality test to players.

It looks like it will be more than 12, but hardly an amount to brag about having a movement. Found an audience shot from last year, and even the venue's own photos don't show it as very large. Based on these, I'm going to assume about 12 rows of 12 seats, for around ~150 person audience.
An angled/elevated shot of the conference hall facing the stage showing rows of tables with chairs uploaded by the Schuyler to their Google Maps listing. There are 3 columns on each side flanking the tables. The spacing and perspective suggests there may be a 4th column on each side just out of frame.A still from a promotional video from the 2024 Welcomefest from their website (https://www.welcomestack.org/p/welcomefest-2025). It shows the stage and some of the audience. There are about 60 audience members visible in the shot. There are what appears to be 4 rows of 12 seats split by an aisle down the middle. The last of the 4 rows aligns with the second column along the edges, for a point of reference with the other picture.

The heads of other people can be seen at the bottom of the frame, with the spacing suggesting there is perhaps an aisle after the first four rows, or some empty seats.
