I think it's the lack of agency the child has in his ministry that concerns me. They have something to offer us as adults which I think he misses.

Not directly and not yet. I've read and recommended elements too, which are excellent. But it seems to lack an observation of the gifting and personality of the child that is God given and should be nurtured.

Possibly. It's just more irregular. We do give kids safety lessons around and in cars. We don't ban them from the vehicle because it's dangerous.

Banning smartphones for kids is a bit like trying to ban cars. We're better helping our kids learn to be safe around cars and in cars by eg wearing seat belts and teaching other drivers to be aware of kids. Banning is unrealistic and unworkable.
