I thought about it. This project wouldn’t be eligible because I started work on it last year, and probably won’t be finished when the jam ends. The Yeti and objects use GBA hardware scaling, but the ice is a pre-rendered background updated tile by tile every frame.

Here is the timelapse. You can see how much iteration I spent on the composition and getting Cortex’s face right. It took 27 hours to complete. I’m not fantastic at drawing, but I find pixel art is forgiving enough to just keep iterating until you are happy.

Mina the Hollower is out! I was going to just make a quick sprite, but I got a bit carried away and just ended up making a full on high-res mockup instead. Haven't even got around to playing the final release! Gotta fix that.

I actually drew the columns in 2D, and animated them using a bespoke tool as sprites/cards being scaled down and moved toward the horizon. So no 3D modeling required
