Just found out "If We Go, We Go on Fire" was translated into Italian a few months ago. Feels cool to see the piece having resonance for folks elsewhere. Can check it out here: archive.org/details/se-a...

Maybe I just won't sleep tonight and instead try to actually get these thoughts on insurrectionary disabled nihilism down on paper.

As inflammatory as the title was, the piece critiquing guns feels more and more relevant every time discourse veers into this posturing of who is the most fit and ready to fight in the civil war cause they've spent the last four years at the range every other day and can do a lot of push ups.

I'm frequently troubled by how many gauge their revolutionary/insurrectionary potential (and that of others) based on an amassing of individual proficiency or capacity or resources, rather than by their willingness to strike against the social relations that uphold this hell world.

Thinking on how easily many of us get caught up in internet fights with people we know don't share our desires in an effort to position ourselves as "right" despite this being an incredible waste of energy. And in an effort to be right, many lose sight of what they're supporting in the process.

Trying to work on a piece (and struggling) regarding how often anarchists/other radicals (in the US) get stuck in a reactive posture and how that manifests as moral performance rather than statement of belief/goal/desire etc.

It’s not suicide it is social murder. It is the result of policy that is explicitly designed to Inflict maximum pain & make a class of people feel as life isn’t worth living.

Honestly, keeping a few flash drives with your catalogue might also be great to pass off to other folks at bookfairs, etc. to keep the circulation of new stuff from different distros going.

For the distroists out there, it feels like a good time to help others get into the practice of printing/distributing information. Something as simple as getting some flash drives, putting your catalogue on them, and getting them to newer folks can be a great way to help someone start.

If there ever was a moment flashing like a giant neon sign, this is the time to get into tabling physical media (zines/posters/stickers/whatever) out in the world. As bleak as things are, I promise you they feel less so when you hand someone a zine and they eagerly run off to read it.

It isn't enough to individually get offline. If the goal is meaningful participation in liberatory struggle, the entire culture of online radicalism needs to be dismantled. Otherwise we boil to death while doing our best to die believing ourselves the most righteous.

Iggy 🏴 @drawndaggers.bsky.social · 26/08/2026
These reductive and ego fueled discourses serve only to stunt the development of critical thought and inhibit critical thought from becoming critical action. Everything becomes moral performance for a given echo chamber, cutting against any possibility of helping one another to be more critical.
160
Iggy 🏴 @drawndaggers.bsky.social · 26/08/2026
The horrible duality of online discourse is that it is simultaneously not real insofar as it does nothing to materially affect the social relations reproducing the world ostensibly being critiqued AND it has real effects on how real people enter/move within physical scenes/spaces/projects.
1121
Iggy 🏴 @drawndaggers.bsky.social · 25/08/2026
It would be infinitely better if every time we saw an opinion we didn't like online, we went outside and did some graffiti, handed out flyers, tabled zines, went wheatpasting. It's fine to get angry by shit takes you see, but use that energy for something that actually affects your surroundings.

Iggy 🏴 @drawndaggers.bsky.social · 25/08/2026
Communists defending prisons, anarchists obfuscating conscription, both deluded into believing moral posturing is participation in liberatory struggle. Everything is performance in hopes that God really does exist and that heaven might one day be theirs. Don't look online for comrades.

Thick heads are needed for breaking through the concrete of shitty analysis sometimes lol So I appreciate you keeping this a prescient critique, especially given you actually care about anti-militarism and don't just use it as a point to score in some political pissing contest.

Iggy 🏴 @drawndaggers.bsky.social · 24/08/2026
It doesn't help that a handful of projects (which have had the most consistently poor analysis in recent memory) hold an outsized media presence that gives the illusion of relevance they don't actually have in many physical scenes/projects/organizing spaces/etc.

Also completely ignores that the illegalists didn't evade repression, they were heavily repressed in all manner of ways (often as an imagined formal body). This isn't to necessarily argue in favor of formal organization but to acknowledge that the "strategic" tone of the piece is obfuscating a lot.

Iggy 🏴 @drawndaggers.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
Yea it feels like a pretty rough misreading of the case that ends up conflating any type of social relation with "legibility". The article speaks of "friendship against movement" but misses that there was no formal organizing body in this case, the state simply imagined such a body to point to.

Seeing that "Against the Cell: Illegalism after Prairieland" piece going around again and trying to figure out if it's worth a written response given I found it lacking to the point of giving a dangerously reductive analysis of conspiracy, social activity, and honestly illegalism itself.

For a grieving so collectively felt that every brick in every border wall becomes dust: theanarchistlibrary.org/library/igna...
I'm not going to sell you some vision of hope or claim that if you just hold out a few more years or months or minutes the end of your suffering is on the horizon. I have no desire to sell you anything or to dictate how you should or shouldn't relate to your life. But I will tell you that there is still meaning to be found here if you want it, though you have to want it, and that there is beauty to be found here too. It is a beautiful thing to fight for a life worth living, even as the logic and rationality of the cruelty of this world attempts to beat that fight out of us. It is a beautiful thing to refuse a world built upon the suffering of so many, built upon your own suffering. It is a beautiful thing to help others to wield their grief, to articulate their desire, to find their will to fight. The meaning is yours to make.

Wherever you are, whoever you are, know that if you move with intention and desire for the end of this world of death machine, I move with you. For every strike you land against the instructions of our suffering, I cheer for you. For every blow you suffer, every time your head hits concrete and you're made to taste your own blood, I rage with you. And when I wield my grief like a weapon, like a knife at the throat of this hell-world, I do so holding you in my heart. We may never meet, may never know each other, but we fight together even as we fight alone.

Know this.

Fundamentally, there is no safety from the death machine of prison, police, the border, the state so long as that machine exists. Offering others as sacrifice to that machine in an effort to prove yourself virtuous in the eyes of genocidaires only makes you an accomplice to their violence.

Every liberal and "radical" that frames "nonviolent" resistance as "good" and "violent" resistance as "bad" (even implicitly) holds responsibility for these sentences. This is the logical conclusion of a worldview where the content of one's resistance to ethnocide justifies their brutalization.
