I met him at a con and watched his talk. He was so inspirational it almost made me cry. I went to his booth after to thank him and just chat and he was still super friendly and gave me a free signed photo. I hate that he's gone now.

In context he's talking about how he has a gender queer child. Jake says "And you're okay with that?" and he replies "I'm not a monster, Jake" He kills people, but he's not a bigot.

The one that always gets me is how she says she never described Hermione's ethnicity and "JK loves black Hermione <3" Which just makes Hermione's efforts to stop elven slavery being met with laughter and ridicule all the more awful.

I don't know if it necessarily has to be *better* as long as it's cheaper, quicker, and doesn't want equal rights and time off and stuff. While they've helped publish games, they haven't really *made* a game since Battle Breakers in 2020. Everything else is Fortnite.

Tim Sweeney is still trying to make NFTs and blockchain a thing in games. He's all in on whatever the latest tech fad is. He stopped being a game dev a looooong time ago. It's insane he has any sway in video games considering he doesn't seem to know how to make them any more.

It's the same as "Separate the art from the artist" after all. Another thing to justify doing something they know is bad but don't want to feel bad about.

I always feel there should be a caveat attacked to Nine Sols. It's a fantastic game, but the story gets real dark, real fast. Not a problem for me, but going in expecting "Hollow Knight with parrying" left me quite unprepared for the opening.

Literally from the first game, you're given orders by Anya Stroud, who is a major. She outranks your sergeant ass. Your best friend is Latino. You're squad mates with a black guy. You meet the equivalent of pacific Maori in two games. It's always had what they'd call "DEI" characters.
