I would love it if LLMs would stop putting in their own line breaks.

Nothing instills more confidence in the American healthcare system than actively trying to get service. 1. Talk to doctor, get quote 2. Get denied (which we expected) 3. Hospital demands 10x quote 4. Get that corrected to quote 5. Get to hospital, they want the 10x amount 6. Get someone to fix it

I can't wait for when in 6 months we realize this was a bad idea. The concept of a pull review is the whole reason we have version control, it's not _just_ to store changes. It lets us visualize changes. It doesn't matter if that's CVS, SVN, GitHub, Mercurial, whatever.

Serious question: Do the people that make Office 365 actually use these tools? Ran into an issue today where I needed to edit a file, and I can't request it because the URL is too long. The URL that is generated by Sharepoint. How does that happen?

My job is just arguing with AI now as it steers me the wrong direction, I correct it, it digs the hole deeper, I yell at it, it apologizes, and I get the satisfaction of closing the terminal. With no work done. So glad we're destroying the environment for this.

I absolutely hate getting tricked into listening to AI music, and then spending 30 minutes figuring out if an artist is AI or real. Came across a song I loved, listened to more of their catalogue on Google Music... and the tinny, clearly generated music started. I hate this timeline.

"When I click the button, no events fire." "Let's me directly access the route...it works. Wait, the server is returning 'Error message.' The UI error is because of the error parsing." NO, THE UI DOESN'T EVEN FIRE OFF THE HTTP REQUEST YOU SO HELPFULLY DID BY HAND. So glad AI is so helpful.

Has anyone tried Asahi on the Macbook Neo? While I've got a M1 Pro MBP, I wouldn't mind a good Linux laptop. If the Neo is good, it might save me some cash from getting a Framework...

Every afternoon is turning into macOS freaking out that I'm out of memory as I run out of HD space and swap can't grow. Closing my Chrome tabs frees up 5GB of HD space. Thanks to Apple's unified design I can't upgrade my 256GB HD (and IT won't let me plug in a drive). I hate this timeline.

I check Apple News every so often since it’s just a swipe away. But lately they’ve introduced ads that automatically pop up the App Store. Nope. Immediate uninstall. I get journalism costs money, but come on. Why do something so intrusive?

Why is it so damned impossible to get a video from an iPhone to a PC? Every solution feels like the most jank, convoluted way to move a file. And no, “get a Mac” isn’t an answer. I’d still have to get the file to the PC for editing.

One of my new years resolutions was to get in better shape. I've started and stopped many times over the years, but this year have stuck with it the longest. It's been 75 days of tracking my meals and I'm finishing up the first 9 weeks of working out. I'm down ~20lbs and feeling better in general.

Gotta love awkward rideshare talk. "So how is Ohio?" "Oh, it's nice, but it's supposed to rain today after I land." "It's a good red state. I hope Trump wins, Kamala doesn't know anything about the US economy." "I do wish the weather was a bit more consistent like here."

An interesting question that has always bugged me: I’ve released a new version of software, why aren’t people upgrading? I think I found the question I should be asking: What’s the friction people are experiencing when trying to upgrade?

Roughly 1/3 of the internet runs on httpd, but it seems like a lot of developers have no idea how to configure it, let alone remember it exists. Having to explain what FastCGI is or basic httpd directives is something I feel like I’m doing more and more.
