Things have been stressful, so today I went on a long outdoor walk in nature and it helped so much. Here are some pics I took and liked :)

I’m officially dubbing Into The Wild (Warriors #1) by Erin Hunter my favorite book of September. I was torn since it’s a re-read, but I originally read it in 5th grade, so I feel it counts. The nostalgia really hit 🤌

I’m constantly floored by the amount of AI I see in “junk journaling” (collaging) posts. It feels so antithetical to the process/ art form. Why not generate an AI image of collage at that point? It makes no sense to me

By contrast, if you don’t like magic that feels more like a science, books like the emperor’s soul and even mistborn may not be so enjoyable. And Tress is fun and light, but more like the princess bride than an epic

Kay @dragonkay.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

I think it depends on the series and what you’re looking for. If you like an epic with more cool factor, I’d just jump into Stormlight. “Standalone” can be deceiving with Sanderson since he puts soooo many easter eggs into them. Ik my guide is a bit of an eyesore but hopefully is helpful haha:

To be clear I think Maura has been doing good and Mark is a good pro, but I do feel like they tend to overscore whoever is with him. Been feeling this way especially since the premiere this year. #dwts

It mostly gave logic to a lot of things I did intuitively! I felt like the parts on the five celestial animals and types of chi especially clicked for me. In my small space, I’ve mostly made the best choice out of limited options. I AM recognizing how amazingly poorly my kitchen is designed.

One odd weakness of mine is that watching videos of small children meeting disney characters make me cry almost every time. I’m not sure why. Instant cry button in my brain.

Trying to decide within myself if my favorite book of September was Sunrise on the Reaping or my reread of the first Warriors book…

Theres one piece of short horror fiction set in the same universe as Mistborn called Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell if you want the best of both worlds

Hi! I can delete this later but you dont have DMs on— I came across an account on etsy that seems to be selling your designs. It seems that only you can contest it since its your IP. I thought you may want to be aware. Feel free to delete this if I’m mistaken! www.etsy.com/listing/4468...

Yeahhh Sunrise on the Reaping really hit me right in the murdered family grief 😅 Anyways I’m gonna be rereading the Warriors books now 😂

010

Kay @dragonkay.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

Thats so fair! Stormlight and his short fiction (Emperor’s soul and shadows for silence) are his best character work, so if you didn’t like those, you’ve already seen the best/ prob wont like the rest

Kay @dragonkay.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Out of curiosity, which books have you tried?

I read the last 60% of Sunrise on the Reaping today and what a great book that was so not great for my mental health

Read all of the cosmere :)

Kay @dragonkay.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

I keep seeing cosmere reading orders that are flow charts, and they’re pretty, but I feel like I keep explaining what books are prereqs for others. I color coded my list in an attempt to make it easier, though I realize it’s harder to read at a glance 😅 Lmk if I missed anything!

Kay @dragonkay.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Highly recommend reading Elantris and Mistborn: secret history next! If you’re in the mood for a short story, Shadows for Silence in The Forests of Hell is also good! Secret history will give closure on the trilogy, and it has easter eggs from the other two works I mentioned (but stands alone)
