One odd weakness of mine is that watching videos of small children meeting disney characters make me cry almost every time. I’m not sure why. Instant cry button in my brain.

Trying to decide within myself if my favorite book of September was Sunrise on the Reaping or my reread of the first Warriors book…

I keep seeing cosmere reading orders that are flow charts, and they’re pretty, but I feel like I keep explaining what books are prereqs for others. I color coded my list in an attempt to make it easier, though I realize it’s harder to read at a glance 😅 Lmk if I missed anything!

I just finished Fires of December and ended up giving it 4 stars. The beginning and the ending were good (plus I love the cosmere heavy-stuff) and the middle made me mad.

I’m almost done with Fires of December and it may be my least favorite cosmere secret project 😅 (My favs in order are Tress > Yumi > Sunlit Man > Emberdark > December)

I’m 40% through Fires of December and I’m so uncomfortable 😭 it’s so mean-spirited and the way he talks about drinking, gambling, modesty, and seduction especially is so so mormon-y and it just makes the huge age gap romance feel so much ickier 😭 Brandon whyy 😭

Daily bunny no.3446 is not left-handed

Bunnies re-enact the duel between Inigo and Wesley in "The Princess Bride", with a masked bunny fighting against a dashing shaggy bunny with a gold sword. The masked bunny is cornered, near the edge of a rocky cliffside, but still has a trick up his sleeve

My new go-to gift for friends that I’m not close with but still want to honor is these little pokemon collages in a card with a nice message :) Enjoy shiny audino! I’m planning another for a friend who’s birthday is coming up who im seeing for the first time in many years ^^

A small collage dedicated to the pokemon shiny audino. The collage is comprised of several paper scraps and stickers of varying textures, patterns, and subjects. The color scheme is golf and purple. There is one cutout of audino prominently featured, and the stickers primarily feature lavender plants and other purple flowers. A scrap of paper with torn, browned edges reads, “This Pokémon has a kind heart. By touching with its feelers, Audino can gauge other creatures' feelings and physical conditions.”

Haughty may be the word I’m looking for. I know this is Hoid’s voice, but I didn’t feel this type of derision in the other Hoid-narrated stories :/ I’m only in part 2 so we’ll see how I feel as it goes…

Okay so I love Sanderson; he’s my favorite author… Why does Fires of December feel kinda… mean spirited? Idk if thats the right wording but vibe is icky Lots of DV depictions that feel… tone deaf? Lots of elitism and bashing rural communities… a LOT of characters called stupid/ dumb/ idiotic… icky

Curious if Brandon had a sensitivity reader for the depiction of Down syndrome in Fires of December 😬 This feels super infantilizing and borderline pejorative to me

A screenshot of a portion of ebook that reads, “unable to properly parent. The eldest child was seventeen, and though almost an adult physically, was far from it men-tally. He was kindly and eager, but short a few letters of the alphabet—in the way that involved nature giving him extra A's, I's, C's, and G's to make up for the deficiency.”

My favorite book of August was Overgrowth by Mira Grant. This was my second Mira Grant novel and I just loooveeee how she does sci-fi thrillers. You can tell that she knows the biology; no science-babble here. What a cool story and lovely characters!

Not a huge fan of the fact that ORAS forces you to take latios into your party and move a party pokemon to the box… Now do I leave Latios in the box when I move it, or do I release it?
