I thought the first major update for Saints & Sirens being 25 pages was wild. Then I wrote more. A lot more. And i have more to finish up before I consider it playable again. The GM section is going great though!

I've started this letter like ten times and deleted it every time because very time I start I cry. So I'm just going to write it.
Your flag matters to me. It matters so much that it's flying at a lesbian household where anyone walking by can see it.
I'm a trans girl so I'm not sure you can relate but I'll try. Most days I'm doing math in my head like which hallway is safer, who I can sit near at lunch whether it's worth saying something or just letting it go. I'm so tired. I don't think people who don't have to do it know how tired it makes you.
I walk past your house almost daily. The first time I saw the flag I slowed down without meaning to. It was just hanging there like it was no big deal but to me it was everything. It felt like the people inside would see me as who I actually am and I wouldn't have to explain or prove anything. My shoulders dropped for the first time all day and I almost cried right there in front of your home.
I know that living here isn't easy for gay people like you where not everyone is kind about it so putting that flag up means risking stares, comments or worse. You did it anyway, and that is the bravest thing I've seen anyone do. Every day it stays up it tells people like me that someone is willing to be brave so we don't have to be alone. Now I look for it. Some days it's the one thing that makes me feel like I'm not imagining that I deserve to be here. When so much of the world feels like it's deciding whether there's room for me your flag says there is. Please keep it up. You might not know it but it's helping me get through the day.
Thank you for your courage, and for leaving the porch light on for the rest of us.

Mm hmm very good points. The resource in question is very much tied to other things, including the prevention of auto death(though there's a fair bit of post-death game play) so choosing when to spend it is pretty important. And you can work it out to limit how often you have to use the low skill.

Also worth pointing out, a failure in this particular case means more problems down the line for everyone in a situation that is designed to compound. So you're always going to come up short somewhere. And have to decide what consequences to mitigate where.

If you went into it knowing it is a punishing game, and you have one skill that cannot succeed unless you spend a very limited resource to bump it, would having auto-fails suck? My instinct is yes. But having a chance for mixed success in this case feels better.

And you have an equal chance of failure/mixed success no matter what. Or i skip the middle option and just give you a pass/fail (in which case, i would probably bump up the pass threshold so lowest die can hit it just barely)

Tis indeed for saints and sailors. At the moment, you have three skills with different die sizes assigned which means for one skill it is impossible to have a full succeess without spending your limited resources to bump it. Or, i make it slightly possible for your lowest skill to have a success

At the highest stakes, you get an auto success with the risk of death and/or cursing the party as a whole. This is for the lower, every day stakes like did you correctly lash a rope or persuade someone to follow your lead.

By without nuance, i mean no middle ground for how you do. You roll the dice and either you succeed or you don't. No "success with complication" or "you succeed but do it badly." And if the game in question is brushing the borders of a play to lose? Would that change your opinion?

Two things are intertwined here: there is no such thing as “reliable” Ai detection no matter how much some wants there to be, and Ai is a tool for oppression of specific groups. Ignoring both of those things and acting like Ai can be used to detect itself will lead to more oppression.
