The small light weight camera let them shoot in real locations that would have been impossible before. This made it cheaper and more practical to shoot all over San Francisco, inside and out. 110

So in 1955 MCA bought up all of Paramount’s old movies. Then in 1962 MCA took over Universal, so that’s how it ended up all under the same roof. 020

Some of it probably puppetry and some of it is definitely optical compositing but you can hardly tell which is which. It’s really well done. 110

And, as long as you're willing to go in there and replace bands every few years, they're basically immortal. 111
