To celebrate October and the return of the Crypt Keeper, here's a photo from my 1997 elementary school Halloween parade where I, as Spider-Man, got so distracted by a cool Crypt Keeper mask that my friend had to drag me away by the hand.

Spider-Man, next to his buddy the Wolf Man, spots the Crypt Keeper and is so mesmerized by coolness that Jason has to yank him away. A gorilla also notices.

One of my favorite things about the works of Clive Barker is that the villains you start the story with are almost never the ones you end it with. He frequently introduces megalomaniacal antagonists hell-bent on power and destruction who just become broken, lonely bystanders by the end.
